if they refuse to sell sokker, I think they will also refuse to sell the engine...

I'm sure someone once said that he (arnau)did some animation work, but this was years ago. Since then, I don't think anything else.

I do agree that SK will just one day not be here anymore, without any kind of warning. I imagine that point will be when it costs more to keep the servers active than is received from advertising and plus subscriptions. At the moment I would guess there is a fair surplus, so in effect keeping sokker as it is, is free money. It's pretty much a whole year since there was any kind of change, and realistically probably 2 years since anything significant.

I also see that the tester team Fiery Tigers has been revived with a fairly irrelevant news article, so there may be something afoot.

seriously Charles, you're trying too hard - give it a rest, this game is finished...

All games will end one day, so also Sokker.

But greg did post a message not so long ago on the staff forum and a bug was solved this week. So I know DEVs are active, but not sure how active.

yaaaaayyy they moved a finger ....so they're alive...hurayyyyyy

They can Rent the engine

Problem is there is a very negative mood on sokker nowadays due to all the bad circumstances. Forums are quiet. So people start wondering wether to pay plus and suddenly the game is gone and so is there money. Suddenly that can become an avalanche and all ends very quick.

Imo we are allready in critical situation, not with users, but the mindset those users got. I know in my arear are a few people who allready think like that.
2014-03-23 13:37:34
thats because of BIG lack of communication by the devs, this is the one and only reason...the rest goes from that..

I also think things really have to change, like communication, bug fixing, new implementations, graphics etc, but in all fairness, the DEVs never gave a lot of info, not even before the big drop of managers. So the drop of managers has also a lot to do with other things, like too many managers posting their shit on the forums, often completely irrelevant or even lies just to set a negative mood (some of them has even admit that). That negative behaviour has definitely hurt Sokker as well, and unfortunatly not enough managers stepped up to stop these negative managers.
2014-03-23 14:45:42
Tell me about it ady:) Most long term managers do know the reasons, just the one that matters doesnt.

2014-03-23 14:48:54
No charles couldnt disagree more here. What allways mattered more was the ignorance of good ideas by greg, promises not kept like we had that webpage designt contest and the winners design should make it to be implemented. But ofc it wasnt done.

Total lack of communication, no appreciation for those admins and mods who work there arse off for free and so on.

This creates negative mood, not some forum trolls. Seriously...

not really

almost nobody visits the forums compared to total number of users, and if somebody does go to forum, he already has his opinion about sokker
2014-03-23 19:58:22
Indeed!
2014-03-24 08:15:38
I think you underestimate a negative mood and the impact of it. Many managers visit national and international forums, specially the active managers. These managers are also the managers who made Sokker as large as it was. They stopped doing that, and not only because of lack of communication and some promises not kept.

EDIT: just think about why people play games, because of DEV communication and promises, or for the fun?

All products ultimately have a shelf life, some longer than others but one of the key ones to keep or maintain interest is with changes. Hence expansion packs on MMO games, SK needs to be the same but if it stays the same, numbers will continue to decline. Even when SK was at higher numbers there was always negativity but there will always be with anything. I doubt it really influences anyones decisions, unless of course they are easily led.

Well are are entitled to your own opinion ofc:) Lets just agree to differ.
