A job involves someone who pays you to do the work.
Work can be done for money (like in a job) or for free (like doing work your garden, or the work of raising children.)

There is a subtle difference in what you say if you are unemployed, looking for something that earns money:
I’m looking for a job. = I’m seeking employment, possibly a career.
I’m looking for work. = I’m seeing something to pay the bills, even if it is not the beginnings of a career.
