ridiculous that I face the same team as in the group stage.
Yep, that happening is a shameful thing (more as it's not the first time, and nothing have been done to FIX it). At least for the first match, DEVs should prevent that to happen. For instance, grouping teams in four halves, so:
- 1st's from A, B, C & D would play vs 2nd's from E, F, G & H (and randomizing pairs)
- 1st's from E, F, G & H would play vs 2nd's from A, B, C & D (and randomizing pairs)
- and from the second round on, random pairs
And, if that were too complicated for them to guess how to do it, they could simply pair teams by crossing the alphabetical order:
- 1st's from A, B, C, D, E, F, G & H would play vs 2nd's from H, G, F, E, D, C, B & A (pairs in this order, not random)
- and from the second round on, random pairs
Either method would prevent the nonsense of both teams of a same group playing *again* in the first round.

This time...Hellas will put things..at the right place...first luck...second luck....three and bad luck..;)

I think it would make it more interesting to have fixed structure, like actual world cup. Just randomize the groups the way it's done now, but after that keep fixed crossing (A1 vs B2, winner vs wiiner of C2 vs D1, etc).
First game between Hellas and latvija was even. Should have ended as a draw. Maybe my superduper strikers won it :)
