By talking in our forums about NT issues, the question has arisen about if Greg & Co will repeat this summer the (in?)famous invention of their 'European Championship 2012' simulation.

As a means of promoting or increase interest in Sokker, I know lots of users think it was a complete failure with interested only a very tiny minority of managers, while at the same time lots of bugs, fixes and ideas/enhancements which would be positive and welcome are left out and never studied (and less implemented), nobody knows why.

Since time is always finite, and the comitment of our DEVs seems to be (quite?) limited, perhaps we could anticipate and avoid them to waste time and efforts in making strange inventions that nearly nobody is going to care about, suggesting them that perhaps other, more productive things, could be done instead.

Maybe this way DEVs could get a clue about what the REAL interest of users is...

IMO rather yes, than no, because usually all the 1st tries dont end very well.

Few days ago idea crossed my mind - there is WC going on, we might have a sokker simulation to gather more newcomers!

Will this one improve ME?
2014-05-04 19:20:57
It should be better to be active all the year than 14 days and try to gather more users, who will stay 10 days at max...

well last simulation led to ME change that needed around year to become reliable (mostly)

No, such nonsense does not deserve investing precious developing time in it.

Sokker is dead. You'd better do something about it.

This Euro simulation was a part of promotion campaign, so it was EXACTLY doing something against sokker getting dead.
2014-05-05 11:31:25
ANY Dev activity is great for sokker, so hell yeah, let's do it!
2014-05-05 12:37:25
Waste of time.
You better do something better.
2014-05-05 15:10:50
It's too late better to concentrate on the bug fixing and improvements.
2014-05-05 16:11:57
I would vote for this but only in case that it is an addition to some current important work that devs are already doing on stuff that really matters to managers of this game because it is good for promotion of sokker...
but it's kinda secret what are devs (or whoever) doing so cant really tell, anyway i think it has low priority on "to do list" so precious developing time should be used better.

bug fixing and improvements won't bring new users

new design + WC promotion can bring new users

but it has to be done better than last time, the Euro simulation was very bad

World Cup is in a month such things cannot be delivered with good quality for such a short time. For me this topic is unrealistic.
And why we should think only for the new users what about the existing once? Those type of games required patience and a lot of time. We loosing a lot dedicates users until any of the existing users becomes dedicated user to start paying regularly. Good design new improvements that is always exciting but fixing bugs in the match engine improving what users with long experience do not like in the game is much more important for me. (cause soon or later the new users will face those problems and will leave as well)

Sokker had never had issues with attaining new users. Keeping them was a challenge. Mostly failed.

Good idea for promo:
do it to make sokker interesting for users and new users, by showing top NT teams, top players and top matchs (without time-waiting to see NT-matches, i hope!),
why not, for ex. awsome "best of" actions of each NT-matches?

BUT, in same time ...

Let's do something to keep new users in game by reforming last division in each countries,
those div. are became a pool of boring bots,
sokker could be a funny communauty for newbies, but it's now only a bots society ...

Noboby care about it in forums, because people in forum are old users and they are NOT in those last division. Why newbies aren't in forums? Because they have only bots to talk with in the first forum they could use: their own league's forum where nobody could send them a sk-mel about beginning a talk in those dead forum. So they haven't idea or desire of reading others forums where they could find some help.

Let's create a big large div. with all users in downest div.
With a big forum to create talking with each other and keeping fun and ... users in sokker
They could talk about ... WC Sokker 2014
And old users (and tutors and mods) could make some animations and give informations in those simple downest div. forum.

Well, the "simulation" has been carried on, and everybody should be by now able to see in their forum list a new one about the "event".

I would have prefered the DEVs to have fixed a bit the junior leagues system... but I guess Sokker (which used itself to be a simulation game for its users) now has other priorities.
