2014-08-03 13:17:26
probably old issue. but never solved

today my opponent scored (again...) using this "situation" that for me is bug to be fixed.

defenders should correct automatically their position...
2014-08-03 14:14:23
this is not a bug, this is a bad feature in that case for who want to think about. personally I'm not against and not agree, although yes it is unrealistic
2014-08-03 16:27:27
well you can set the height of defenders during throw ins in the tactic...so I don't know what's the problem...
2014-08-03 17:14:37
You´ve asked themselves to run up where they are....
2014-08-03 18:34:57
I have my players behind the ball allways. But the ME put them higher when i have the ball (throw in) then when the opponent has the ball. I have no influence on that part.
So when i have the ball the players move forward above the ballposition. But when i correct that in the tactic, and the opponent has the ball they run so far below the ball there is no real defending...

I know this is about choice, but it is not what i asked my players.

Guys....
seemed to me not necessary to explain you.......
I know I can set defence height...
if you decide to play with high defence you shouldn t have aniway this handicap.
is not realistic.

the point is that automatically when you have throw in, the other defenders should be in the same line of left/right back.

2014-08-03 18:41:49
wybo, you exactly got my point.
I can add also that when this happen close to the area, is more dangerous:
putting your defenders back to avoid the throw in means easy way for your opponent to cross and maybe score (for example by head).
2014-08-03 18:44:32
the point is that automatically when you have throw in, the other defenders should be in the same line of left/right back.

yes, let's make everything in tactic easy and automatic, so we don't need to have any skill to play well

it's already to easy to defend, 3 years ago to defend well you needed a tactical skill, now the engine defends for you
2014-08-03 18:49:17
I think sokker had 2 choices (maybe 3)

1. make a tactic when you have the ball and a tactic when you do not have the ball
1.5 use the tactic and do not make it higher when you have the ball and lower when the opponent has the ball. Just stick to what the manager made.

2. keep the defline on the height of the player (when they are higher) with the ball when there is a moment like freekick or throw in. Yes that is automatic, but because of 1 and 1.5 i do not have real influence on this, so where are my tactical choices?

where are my tactical choices

decision about height of defence is up to you

you can choose a different approach when the ball is in the throw in area etc.
2014-08-03 18:54:24
Borkos
probably you never had this problem.
imo is not absolutely realistic.
Aniway if you don't want this automation could be sufficient for me to have the chance to do this in my settings.
as said by wybo, the big problem is when the defenders move more below than you set.
2014-08-03 18:54:30
The problem of your statement is that the players run away from the ball when there is a wingattack. I do not want them play lower with such an attack.

The problem is not that it is not automatic, the problem is that sokker decide that my tactic is not the same when i have the ball and i do not have the ball. I have no influence on what i want that my players do.

I love playing with extremely high defence so believe me, I had

@wybo
The problem of your statement is that the players run away from the ball when there is a wingattack. I do not want them play lower with such an attack.

so set the wing defender higher and the central defenders lower...

"so set the wing defender higher and the central defenders lower... "

That does not solve the problem... they run to the goal when i want them to defend higher.

There is a winger that beat my wingback or whatever, he is running and passing. Then the central defs are to deep. I what that they keep presure on the attackers.

You say, so you have to choose. But why should i have to choose between 2 bad things? Just give me the power to say to my players that i want them to defend with presure on the attackers, but when i have a throw in, or free kick they should stay at least at the height of the ball. Because that is where i put them in the tactic.... not higher.
2014-08-03 19:04:56
so set the wing defender higher and the central defenders lower...

This is an indirect way to solve the problem that sometimes can help sometimes not and sometimes can create several problem in other playing situations (not throw in or free kick).

why should I risk in wingattack situations with my left/right back in wrong position against opponent wing?

why should I risk in wingattack situations with my left/right back in wrong position against opponent wing?

but he will be in correct position, I really don't see the problem
