Subject: It's Time For Change

Although I partially disagree with the explanation :P

1. the game is outdated - layout is bad, the interface is very bad

I have seen many games, newer or older. I really don't see what is bad about this interface/layout, or at least all interface/layouts I know are at best eually bad :P

2. young people don't want to play such games like sokker, they want modern managers, connected with facebook, with tablet/phone applications

That sums up the real problem: Sokker may turn into a game we aren't interested in but satisfies a different demand from different consumers, or it may stay as some form of good ol' online manager, accepting it won't attract those looking for something else - which are steadily displacing us from the market.

I like the game. I'd like it to be better, but obviously I'm here, so good enough for me. Some improved version of SK wold be just the game I want. I also would like to have more users, and more new users. The question is: who will those users be? Who do you know would be interested in this kind of games? I don't know anyone, regardless of what changes we make to sokker, that would enjoy this game. Better said: all the people I know would be interested has already played Sokker and left for different reasons, but in all cases it's not about improving the game, they're basically out of the market for these games.

So, it's fine to make the game better and everything, but first things first: do we have a potential demand? I don't mean speculations, I mean do any of us have friends willing to play this game in its current form or in some improved version? And, since we're here, I'd say our friends are more likely to be interested than the general population, but still... It's like those pyramidal businesses, and I think we are at the point in which the base can't keep on growing :P

Sokker is sokker and it can't be changed :D

regarding typical internet games and other entertaining sites it follows the same patterns

there was a peak of 30 thousand users after couple of years and now the number of users is declining

it is not possible to entertain so many people for years, I play sokker for 8 years and would like to play for another 8 or more ... fortunately I live in Poland and there are competitive leagues even in 5 tier, I don't have to play at higher level than 4, but still in many countries, players at a top level haven't got a room for further development and the game becomes boring for them, that is natural thing

even more there is not as many people as we are who love to play a game like this :D no changes can interest more players than these who play for years and are still very active

Lol. So this turned into a topic on the evolution of #sokker users.

You guys can use the designated topics for that. Thanks.

Still really surprised? Doesn't this almost always happen with topics like these? ;)

And I agree with borkos007, the number of sign ups is the problem and that should be solved, just as the number of new users who never come back after 1 login.

i think that sokker needs some marketing strategies around the Web, in first time. If people from all over the world will know that type of game, trying for example the plus for 3 months, maybe 30% of that new users will remain an keep on playing stronger, inviting someone else and so on.
Nobody knows that game. Only who have played in these years. I quit in 2009, and I return since May, because Sokker misses in my life. really. I quit because the changes in the years before have destroyed a part of the original game, and there were an initial increasing of bot.

Now is worse. There are bot, bot and bot.

Devs, let's start invest something (less money, more time) in advertising, in curing FB official page, twitter, and something similar. Starting from people that will play that game: universitarian, students in general, football nerds... us! :D

I don't think that they invest any money on advertising ^^

I have seen many games, newer or older. I really don't see what is bad about this interface/layout, or at least all interface/layouts I know are at best eually bad :P

by interface I mean some stupid decisions

for example:

a. youth school in the 'Office' section
b. tactic editor in the 'Training' section

also the tactic editor was always a big problem for beginners who did not understand that they can set tactic in all squares, not only in the main one...

Topic with poll in Forum Bugs / Ideas (en):

[IDEA] New division structure after deleted divisions

Please vote, it could be helpful for Sokker :)

I've been in the top league longer than anyone else in SK, best way to keep myself amused is to have a playoff every now and again to put a bit of suspense in (not bad choices/tactics of course).

also the tactic editor was always a big problem for beginners who did not understand that they can set tactic in all squares, not only in the main one...

If anything they just need to simplify the tactic editor. But also keep it complex at the same time. I know I thought for a fair while it was only the first screen you had to alter.

In general people don't like to read instructions, etc. and blame others afterwards :D

Ignorantia iuris nocet! ;)

Pff I solved it with a tutorial in like 2006 :P

Pfft. That was no good to me in 2004.

In my opinion it would be much more easier to permit everyone to register a team everywhere, without the actual (stupid) limit.

2 options:

- new users can register a team where they want
- "old" user can delete their actual team, and restart in any Country they like

It will save the "historical" users which will remain the stronger in their Nation, while will give new chance to user like me, who have no any fun being in lower leagues, always winning all the matches against BOT and losing the play off match.

In addition, for a new user, it is impossible to find any kind of fun playing against both, and being alone in an empty league. Non fun --> stop playing. It's easy

Lol! Can't even admit that you had a QG cause you're weak!

Pfft. At least I've never been relegated.

Not a good idea, look at the number of Polish users. If many of them do a reset and start in new countries, many countries will have more Polish as native users. Not a good idea at all.
2014-11-07 20:57:04
even if it was possible it should be limited to users from countries where the number of users is less then lets say 20 or so

maybe it would be better to combine some countries into one league system to create regional leagues.
