Subject: [NT] U27 European Championship - Season 5

Well might be that it is too late now... but at other points, it has been suggested to play 32 teams..... for denmark, who is just around top 32 EU, it is of importance... so i dont see why the comment is useless... :)

useless cause it will not change anything for this edition
for next edition i promise it will be 32 teams

me personally i prefer to be only 16 countries cause all group stages will be to qualify to top 16
maybe the competition needs to be split in 2 one season qualification and one season final stage

Well... the reason i prefer 32, is besides denmark otherwise never will play, is that it leaves out big teams... for instance, this season will be without spain, hungary, holland and other teams with 78+ mark teams..... i think the quality of top 32 EU NT´s, are that everyone has chances in group and knockout, so i think would still be very strong tourney..... it is not like, there will be easy opponents in group because of it, so the group still needs 100% concentration, or you´ll fail...

you have your point but the rules for this tournament were announced long time ago you should open this discussion back then when i posted the rules. Now its to late but for next edition you will have it :)

PS: i red the whole thread for the last edition no comment about increasing the size of the tournament was mentioned

sorry but elections aren't over now and all coaches already have arranged friendlies week 11... with nations who wouldn't play the tournament? strange to believe...

as i said it will be with 32 teams from next edition im not doing that exception for any nation

I announced the rule at the end of the last edition i put a deadline that the end of election country ranking will matter no one refused or posted anything at that time so i do not see why i should change it now.

It takes time to get this organized and I think a lot (if not most) of the teams that are not close to the first 16 have already arranged friendly matches so that would kinda mess things round and leave other teams without an opponent... so I support sviktorov's decision ...

I would not mind however to have a voting about this with lets say the top 40 EU clubs saying their detailed opinion. If 99 % of the managers want and can play a 32 teams tournament without getting other managers upset...I think the organizer could change his mind...if its for the good of the group :). I know for sure sviktorov is people's person :D

I guess nations being ranked 39 stand no chance of ever joining this, even if they have a quite decent U27 team.

i was thinking for the future the competition to not be related to the ranking . Here is my suggestion:

Next competition will be with 32 teams based on the rankings will call it completion A
in that competition the teams that qualify to playoffs automatically qualifies for the next edition 16 teams
the teams that do not qualified playing playoffs for relagtion
8 teams that wins that playoff qualifies for next edition so 24 teams

8 loosing team playing second round 4 loosing teams relegate and 4 winners playing final game with
teams of 5-8 place from parallel completion B

Parallel completion B is with teams from ranking 33-64 and will be the same as competition A
16 teams from that competition playing playoffs and those that reach top 4 promote directly
those that reach 5-8 place playing promotion playoff with teams from completion A placed on 17-20 place

This is suggestion and its based on that we have only 4 weeks for playoffs it could optimized if you guys see better formula

So here is the ranking for this season the top 16 countries will have next week to confirm their participation from Monday. (The new national trainer). This ranking will be used for the pots in the draw
Pot A 1-4
Pot B 5-8
Pot C 9-12
Pot D 13-16
