If I was a new user I'd never wait 5 minutes to watch the game.

You don't need to really wait 5 minutes. Of course you can do that but you can also do something else instead of watching a timer counting down.

Open the match, go to the kitchen and get yourself something to eat, or open the Sokker forum in another page and write some comments like you did in this topc. Before you know it the 5 minutes are over.

You really think someone is patient for that in todays society?

People dont wanna wait 30 seconds for ads in youtube videos and instead click to somewhere else and you guys expect for them to wait 5 minutes for a flash game? :)


Besides, Plus already has other advantages i really dont see how this advantage attracts more people to buy plus than to lose interest in the game.

I agree, most of the people ends up quitting the game or just clicking on the results.

Good arguments, but non will change greg's mind. Believe me, we tried it all. The only thing we can do is tell managers to work around the delay because there is enough to read on the forums while 'waiting'.

I agree with you, and i know that we can't do anything about it. And i understand that there is a way around, but would be great to skip it though.

And that's one of the things suggested to greg, a skip button after an x number of seconds. Also some other ideas and solutions, but non of the arguments to change the delay made him change his mind :/.

About that delay...you can also start a previous match in another window,like half an hour before your match...just leave sokker open(don't log out or quit browser) and you won't have to wait for live match

Its not about changing greg's mind its just abut him opening a message!
Send him this:

1. Income from ads has not grown despite the wait because most people use Adblock so they do not see the advertising there!

2. Instead of using AdSense - which is hard to get approved and also takes time to set ad display channels and the rest... a) make a deal with SupersonicAds - and promote mobile apps, or b) Sell individual advertising space - how??? Make a link that says Advertise on this website - I would buy that space if he does not ask for too much for impression or click and I can help with selling that space also!

3. Since you do not have the time or in some cases the knowledge to deal with all the things - be a good business manager and appoint the right people to help - set responsibilities and transform your hobby to a good business!!!

4. If you want to increase the money from AdSense - use videos in that waiting space - it gives users something to do - make them watch a video and get payed for view or/and clicks. Just like youtube adverts that show before the videos you want to watch!

5. Normally if you would ask an advertising company to help you they would charge you for consulting!!! I can provide that service for free...if he would just accept to have a chat!

But my bet is, it wont work either. Your idea would work well with any reasonable person, but we would not have this discussion if greg were a reasonable guy:P
