Sorry, this isn't something i can fix. I'd suspect it's not related to the code in the program as much as the setup of your OS or office.

Are you using XP and SP2? If not, you may want to upgrade to that (sp2 upgrade is from microsoft.com)
2006-08-08 19:12:49
Yes, I'm using XP with SP2 and it's updated regularly, and it is also pretty stable, I never experienced something like this.

Sorry, no ideas then, no one else is reporting a crash like that. Most of the problems (all but mebbe 5-6) were usage issues (language, bad team id, bad data path, etc).
2006-08-08 20:18:25
i'll try all possible combinations :)

Hi there,
I can t load the player data because of a different team name it had before. Steau or something and my new team name is Stockton RiverRats...so how does the program see the change or where can I put this info in??
2006-08-08 20:54:00
Well you're getting a problem that's not related to those. Let me know if it is fixed. May want to remove and re-install MS Office 2003... Download new .mdbs too, who knows if they got corrupted when downloading or unzipping... Remove the runtime if you're installing MS Office, too (should be able to do this thru add/remove programs)...
2006-08-09 01:28:27
It was a clean install of Office 2003. First, I've removed runtime before installing Office.

I'll try re-downloading later and to find solution.

It really beats me for now :/

re the language thing:
i'm using firefox, and it just didn't work. i had set lang=english for days already and had logged in and out countless times, still sm told me language is not english.
now, right after it again didn't work, i logged into sokker with internet explorer, and out again. suddenly, no complaints from sokker manager and all matches are downloaded...stttrrrange?! anyway, it works :D

thanks guacamole for creating this useful program, your help, and of course for your patience ;-)

I've said a few times already, including once to you that you have to use English in IE.

Changing it in firefox does nothing to your IE cookies.

If you got a new team just now, start from now.

Otherwise load your data with the old team name, and then change your team name to load data from when your team name changed.

Team name is on the main screen.

Or, you can enter it manually if this doesn't work.
2006-08-09 17:16:07
ooops, sorry about that
though, no, you never told me its important to update especially IE cookies
you might want to put that in the first post of this thread or/and on the download site, so you don't have to repeat it all over again ;)
2006-08-09 18:55:16
right right, i mentioned cookies but i didn't say specifically IE cookies.

I think i'll put the message on the "invalid language" warning in the new version.
2006-08-09 18:56:45
Here's the message in the 2.1 version:

The settings for Sokker do not seem to be English. Please log into Sokker using Internet Explorer, change to English, log out of Sokker, log back into Sokker again to update the cookie to be English, and retry.

Worded sensibly?

(2.1 is soon released, still mostly waiting on the factors for the new countries. May just release with a window to enable ppl to update the factors and if we get anyone from those coutnries just tell them to use that).
2006-08-10 12:10:41
sounds good. i think i would emphasize IE cookies even more...but maybe that's just me ! ;)

The settings for Sokker do not seem to be English. This program uses Internet Explorer cookies. Please log into Sokker using Internet Explorer, change to English, log out of Sokker, log back into Sokker again to update the cookie to be English, and retry.

Why don't you just set the cookie to english?
"lang=en"
