Plain wrong, it`s supposed that the in the groups of 6 teams the nr 2s get their results against the weakest team nulled. Every person playing strategy games with an IQ over 90 gets that.

Norge and Azerbajdsjan should both be ahead of Peru, Bosnia, Vietnam and Cuba in line for the WC.

I agree with You but unfortunately devs do not. They think that having addtional points-giver in group (the team ultimately ranked 6th in group) means more difficult group because there are 6 not 5 teams.

It's the same issue as with The Netherlands U21 season earlier.

I tried to convince Raul right after The Netherlands U21 fail that they are wrong and it's rather 5 teams group being more difficult but I didn't succeed.

There might be some changes in this area in the future, but I would rather expect something like additional play-off round for 2nd ranked teams than just simple global table without counting points got on playing with lowest ranked teams. I also doubt the solution of filling smaller groups with "new" countries so that there would be the same number of teams in ech group.

lol, I don't believe that Raul is that ignorant. Sounds like a bad excuse to me, not to fix a bug that might require some effort.

Lol group of 6 automatic means 6 points more ... Seems they do not know reality in NT in sokker. I'm not surprised cause they always underestimate this part of the game...

How difficult is to generate script with points of all second team and exclude points with 2 games from last position in 6 groups ..

From what I remember it's not true.
The first rules were different, the 'extra' game with last place wasn't supposed to count.

Then Holland happened and they decided "yeah we won't fix it, it will be like this, deal with it, sorry".

Why? Because it would take work to rewrite it so it worked as it was supposed to and they have other more important things on their list. It was easier, simple as that.

Imo, they didnt change anything here, it works as it worked before season changes. There was different number of teams in group and different number of groups and due to these differences the issue with Netherlands could be seen but the rules were the same and they decided to let them stay the same even after The Netherlands fail.

A23.1: The 17 teams from the first places in the groups and 15 of the 17 teams from the second places will be promoted. For all second placed teams a ranking will be made NOT INCLUDING matches against the last placed team in the case of 6-team groups. The best 15 teams will be promoted. The ranking will be based on the same assumptions as in the league i.e. number of points, goal difference, higher number of goals scored, higher number of victories, higher starting position (higher "pot").

Apparently they forgot, or more probably whoever was autor of these words, didn't know how exactly the system works and later when it turned out to be working differently than expected it was easier to forgot about "promises"

Groups are known.

Moldova, Belgium, Ecuador, Malta and Hellas have to fight for first place in group O to ensure qualification for next world cup. As it is a group with only 5 teams, so second place doesn't give any reassurance... Still this stupid rule...
