Height
A taller player has a better chance of winning a header.
So, height only has advantages, without any drawbacks? Is this a basketball manager :D
Previously, the rules stated that shorter players accelerate faster, but this seems to have been removed.

Even if it doesn't have direct drawbacks, it is part of BMI, so it also affects the acceleration, just indirectly.
are there stats about tall players more often having an extreme BMI ?
At the time, I tested in terms of effectiveness on center shots the tallest strikers against the shortest ones with low BMIs (under 23), equal skills. The shorter ones won by a wide margin. (not necessarily headers). So height can help for headings, but scoring….
Confirming official rules is fine, but what s happens in game engine remains another story. Thanks for the news.

You tested a very different thing
Height has no impact on scoring efficiency - that's about position (close/far, wide/centre) / opponents nearby / striker level & form / opposing GK skill & form / random
You could've as well tested if smaller players make more through passes than higher players - equally pointless

But It should be more efficient. If "taller player has a better chance of winning a header" I may suppose its shoul help for scoring....
I am totally agree with you, much others factors. But clearly when the taller ones had not excelled at playing wing tactics during 2 seasons of NT.... in practical terms, at least we can concludes that "randoms" win over heights.

This is the reason I don't like short GK. They lose too many aerial duels.
Advantage of height has been clear since a long time.

Randomness may win in your team, but not in a statistically significant sample. If it works as described, tall players have a clear advantage.
imo this height thing was just a stupid way for devs to artificially make some players better than others. Like adding an extra skill that cannot be trained.
It would have been cool if it was about diversification like in the original concept and in the rules —taller players better at headers, shorter players accelerate faster—but they just gave extra trait to some of the players.

Well you said "in practical terms, at least we can concludes that "randoms" win over heights." :) and the second part of my comment wasnt addressed to you
You should have read « randoms » as sum of others factors (other than height) - those mentioned by borkos007 for example - and not, randomness. In other words : even if height is implemented, its weight relative to other factors is imperceptible in M.E.
