Yes.
I added "in terms of height" to the word small in my post if it wasn't clear in the first place.

Sure ! (assuming similar BMI) :-)

As in real life :P
The taller the better

Surprisingly coming from an Argentinian :-)

In real life, a thinner and smaller player in general (height 1.65-1.75 range) will probably run faster than a player who is 1.85. I'm not talking about creatures like Ronaldo, who was a goat despite his height, but in general.

More than speed and acceleration, the biggest advantage of short players in RL is their agility and ball control, i.e. technique in Sokker.

Also with the current set-up the most useful players will be the extremities, such as 1.95+, which are very few in real football except GKs and CBs.

It is completely unnatural and counter-intuitive for tall players to have only advantages, total nonsense from devs.

not "faster", but dribbling pace is facilitate due to a lower gravity point.
Maradonna or Messi are goats, they would certainly not be as good (in their own talent) if they were tall.

On the other side, Ronaldo would not have scored as many goals with heads, if he was smaller :-)
(not to say that Messi or Madonna was also mastering heads, technically)

Sucks to be Asian

They actually lack of diversity :-)

DarkmasteR + juytt

totally agree
I really don't understand the logic of the developers giving an advantage only to tall players. Until now, I would devise tactics and place the shorter players as fullbacks and the taller ones as center defenders. In general, I would try to have one of my strikers be tall for heading, and I intentionally bought the other striker short so that he would accelerate faster than the defense. All these plans are worthless now, and what's more, I have to consider selling the shorter players because they supposedly have only disadvantages compared to the taller ones.

An advantage only to tall players.

Nope. This is only true for comparable BMIs. And only theoretically (base on rules). And only if we compare with same skills and form.

How many 1.9+ tall strikers at top skills, top form, perfect bmi currently exists in Sokker ? around 40. Good luck to catch one :-)
Does this group of strikers scores more statistically? If height was so much important it should be the case, globally. But nothing special appears.

Following your logic, it is not an advantage for a striker to have high defending, because there are more important factors such as pace, technique, striker, and form.

Of course there are more important factors and its not game-changer but it is still an advantage. And could be important especially on NT level where for example Poland could choose the tallest ones from their 10+ top ATTs in top form while other countries do not have the luxury of thinking about the height. Again, not a game-changer, but additional advantage of their big roster.

Of course, these are players with identical stats and the same fitness, etc. But you're talking to me about 1.9+ players and I'm talking to you generally about tall players. As far as I'm concerned, if I have a 1.75 defensive player and there's a 1.8+ striker in front of him, that's enough for him to get the advantage.

And as DarkmasteR said, I very much agree with him, because I am a national team coach and my selection of players is very, very limited, but when I play against strong teams (I will also play against Poland in the WC) they have an infinite pool of players. So it is not enough that the gap between the teams is huge, now they also have the option to choose the higher players and get another advantage, which makes the level gaps even bigger.

Strong national teams - getting stronger
Weak national teams - getting weaker

imo you guys are making big something is not... is not a big deal this thing about tall players... in Motor Engine the difference probably is really looow... the game is working like this for years
