just bad luck. Some players won't lose a pace for 3-4 seasons.

I saw today this player and made me realise how big is the diference between 'bad lucks'. For some it appears at the age of 28, while others reach 34 and still have 18 pace.

Novak Mićić 34yo

11 stamina 16 keeper
18 pace 8 defender
7 technique 8 playmaker
12 passing 8 striker

i think that player is in the 0.001% of luck... the common sense is that the drops happen between 28-30yo

It's how the game mechanism was build, but has nothing to do with common sence imo...

Paco to SoL
He'll probably keep training the skill?

in advanced? I don´t think so
2025-10-21 02:12:31
by common sense i mean that in general the drop happens in that range

Ah ok. you mean, on average.
Still I feel that to be too early. Let older players keep their skills longer as long as they're playing their matches, cause it will make teams make more difficult choices to switch between older A team players and trainees, because playing the older players will let them maintain their skills longer, but it goes at the cost of having less minutes for trainees. It will also make playing for results far more interesting, cause when you buy an older player to fill in for an injured player, he then can truly contribute to your team, without you having to worry about him dropping in skills too much.

Ah... doesn't matter in the end. I would change dozens of thing in which I feel things should go, but so would others and in the end, the only people who actually can change the game, don't do it, or it happens in a range of 10 years.

In high level leagues there's no such thing as "trainees", you only have 27+ players who play all games because you have no games where you could give minutes to trainees. You can't "let older players keep their skills as long as they're playing".

Old players keep their skills long enough, some even claim that they it's too long. Polonia Skierniewice in Polish Ekstraklasa has an average age of 34.5 and still manages to play for 76-78 rating while using some players who are 35-37yo.

There are 36-37yo midfielders who are still 5x magical+.
There are 34yo wingers who are still 1x unearthly 3x divine.
There are 35yo strikers who are still 3x divine.

Don't take things too litterally...
I just mean that the range of 28 - 30 is imo way too young to be the average age in which players drop in skills.
So as long as they're playing their matches they should maintain their skills better... and injuries could lead to skilldrops as well as a very small percentage of random.
2025-10-21 22:04:09
But 28-30 is not a huge skill drop age, it's not an issue... it's not an age when they DROP their skills, these are ages when they CAN start dropping skills, by low amounts that can still be trained back.

2nd best Polish midfielder is 32yo, 3rd best midfielder is 32, best winger is 31, best striker is 31.

Yes it could be changed that pace drops like other skills since 30yo, but other than that I don't see the skills drops as a problem in this game.

The problem with those drops is that they come in complete ridiculous proportions.
One player keep his skills for ages and ages, and the other loses skills almost by the week.

haha crazy

this is sokker
2025-10-22 09:50:38
28 for drop pace is crazy. Espec when its the slowest for training and usually player reach that pace in 27y. And you have drop in 28y :((
2025-10-22 17:26:03
for me it's absurd to have any player drop ib skills before the age of 32. That's when drops should begin, and even then it should not be more then 1 drop for max 2 skills per season until let's say 35
2025-10-22 17:44:15
i think 30-31 is fine.... 28yo is absurd
