if you release v2.2 could you fix a small youth school bug please?

juniors join school on saturday.
if he pops in his first training sokker manager misses this pop and thinks he started with that level.
the fix would be to be able to set the starting level.
this is no big error, but if the player pops for the second time sokker manager things its the first time and therefor the talent calculation and the endlevel are missing.

second bug
at the players report we have weeks trained / pop.
it takes the overall count of pops for that specific level and not the pops that accured while that skill was actually trained.
example:
Player X randomly popped at week 2 in striker
I start striker training at week 3
Player X popps after 3 weeks of training
now sokker manager tells me he made 2 pops in 3 weeks of training (1,5 weeks / pop)

Btw, one long-time user of Sokker Manager told me he didn't look at GTF...

GTF is probably imho the most valuable piece of information on training / talent available.

For GTF i take into account the minutes played, position, training type, etc... And it looks at all pops for players including randoms and effectively deals with players who aren't trained every single week. Basically think of GTF as talent and shoot for the lower number the better. Anything below a 2 is very good, for a 16-17 year old you should be able to hit 1.5, but for a 22 year old 2.2-2.5 is probably pretty nice.

GTF is very useful.
not quite sure how accurate it is.
got two striker trainees with the age of 20 who have a GTA rating of 1.7-1.8.
both are very talented.
A 18 year old Mid who used to pop every 5 weaks in Striker (playing as a MID!) has GTF rating of 1.
data looks good to me.

It's a complex calculation to determine the effective weeks trained (takes into account a lot of stuff that's configurable on the maintenance screen, but i'd suggest you don't mess with it because it's current best guesses by a lot of people who know more than i do :).

Then that's compared to the overall # of pops.

This is why, loop, i don't want to take out random pops. In the long term if i exclude those i'm losing a piece of information that will help determine a player's overall talent... Of course, in the short term if someone hits 3-4 random pops in the first two weeks, his GTF-based talent will be skewed on the high side... But after a season or so it's much more accurate that way, ESPECIALLY for players who aren't trained many weeks.

There are no random pops. General training is not random as in HT.
2006-11-15 19:23:42
Lol, as if i don't know how training works?

Ok, call them general pops or osmotic pops. The ones in a stat not currently being trained that week.

Thanks for the word correction :)

I do think GTF is useful, but for some reason it seems my guys' GTF's are not correct. I dont think my players' training is being calculated correctly.

I have way too many players with a less than 1 GTF.
2006-11-15 21:50:18
as far as I can tell this GTFs are wrong as long as he does not pop again (if skill was not trained that is)
2006-11-15 21:54:23
For players who aren't being trained, they're gonna pop a lot but they'll only get the stamina or whatever when you train them every once in a WHILE.

GTF is only really a helpful guide to talent on players who are currently being trained in stuff (ie mebbe trained at least 50% of the weeks). otherwise the general training pops really outweigh the actual training numbers.
2006-11-15 21:55:07
Do you guys think i should only show GTF if the player is being trained (ie trained at least 5 weeks of the last 8?)
2006-11-15 21:58:36
actually every player gets trained unless you train goal keepers.
as long as you consider that some of them get less training based on position they play and position you train, its fine.
the problem with gtf is the general training, stamina pops and on players who never poped.
2006-11-15 22:03:03
for example
one of my defenders had a stamina pop from general training.
I trained striker skill for the whole season and he did not pop once.
sokker manager tells me his GTF is 0,4

stamina pops aren't counted.

What i can do is give EVERYONE 5% training on EVERY stat to take into account the general training, based on playing a 90 minute match (ie if only play 45 minutes, you'd get 2.5% for that week...).
2006-11-15 22:26:15
You sure he didn't have another pop? Do the player posting here (feel free to delete the name and stats if you don't want him visible, just put in the bottom sections talking about traiing and pops).
2006-11-15 23:13:39
as you say stamina is not counted I'm now no longer sure.
data is at work, I will take a look what caused that 0,4, but I know that he did not pop in striker.
non of my defenders popped in striker.
training effect must be really low there!
2006-11-16 00:54:01
well, calling it random is misleading for new users.
