Actually vilpu thanx for bumping this - i was about to search for it.

I am about to do a pretty large recode of the data loading processes to take advantage of the new xlm data. It's a pretty massive change even tho it doesn't provide that much data i wasn't getting before. However, i was screen-scraping it basically which is MUCH less elegant than the way i will be able to get match data etc now with the XML enhancements.

One benefit is that i'll probably do the multi-language with this since the translation will now be MUCH easier since i don't have to parse match reports in multiple languages any more. And this should resolve some of the issues with people with various web browser "issues".

So.....

Please start making suggestions for further improvements.

I may do the tab control instead of separate windows.

Also, if anyone here is a graphics person that wants to work on the user interface with me, let me know. You'd need to be willing to do some work directly in Microsoft Access (just putting the graphics in the button obhjects etc), so you'll need MS Access 2003.

The data loading process restricts my ability to run Sokker Manager effectively.

My file saves went through good but when I open the database I get NO DATA FILES FOUND IN FILE SEACH.

Is this an easy fix? Your help is greatly appreciated.

No data files found in file search indicates that your Sokker Manager Data.mdb file is not in the same directory that Sokker Manager.mdb is?

Those are the only two files required for Sokker Manager - the zip file contains both of them. The download process does save off a copy of the downloaded file, but this does not generate the error message that you mention.

The full text of that error message, btw, is: MsgBox ("No Data Files Found in FileSearch. Data files must be in the " & Path & " directory and be named Data.mdb or Data.mde (ie recommended is Sokker Manager Data.mde)"). Is that the full message you're seeing?

Did you unzip them into a directory together like it says? sk-mail me if you are still having problems.

I am working on SM 3.0 to use the new XML upload process.

Does anyone care to have Sokker Manager track the arena or coaches? I'm leaning towards just not bothering with that data, since it doesn't really make much of a difference to the value of the program.

Of course, all the current data will be loaded, plus Tactical Discipline...

I'll also log team money, fan club count, and fan club mood - might as well show a historical graph of that stuff as well.

it wolud help if you want to use the wage information for financial purporsal like to predict the balance acording to the wage, juniors and money from sponsor,
if you want to sokker manager do that then you must include it, if you tool only help for tatics and player management then no need for that data

i'm unclear. Are you suggesting i do include money by this "wave"? I was going to include that, just was asking if anyone had a driving need to see coaches or arena.

sorry i misspell the word i meant wage not wave :D

i think is important to see the stat for the coach in order to compare with other coachs

also the arena does not make sense if you cant change it and project the cost of increase the number of seats

I guess i can load that stuff easily enuf...

Wage summary for coaches may be helpful slightly (tho that's available in the office info on a weekly basis).

And with the arena, i can show cost to maintain, revenue to sell out, and let the player add or remove seats to see the difference.

ehm, i have a heavy problem with sokker manager since last week.

every time i try to download data (exactly at the moment i press on the download button in the basic menu) mi acces shuts down after an error.
it doesnt says which error, there just appears this dialog if i want to send the error-report to microsoft, because the database maybe is broken.
after that it tries to repair database and builds a backup. but nothing works. the error occurs every time. so i deleted the database and installed a new one(also into a differend folder).
and the same error is there again. but the database can't be broken because i just downloaded it from ur website and installed it.

i'm running on xp sp2(all updates), using acces runtime environment (i also tried 07beta).

i hope u can help me :(

If you installed IE7 it is a "normal" bug.
No solution yet.

I'm thinking that may be fixed in v3.0 to be released soon to use the XML and other improvements i'm including...

So i won't be releasing 2.1 with a IE7 fix.

so the week during which i can't download data will be lost??
there'll be a black hole in my team managment ;)
