Yep, around 0.2/w per level, to simplify.

Given how the youth academy works:

1) The longer a junior stays in the academy, the more he will accumulate a small coach's gain.
2) Based on maximum talent and 34 weeks in academy, the gain is barely max +1 junior level per coach level or +3 skills max globally to simplify.
3) Only high talent junior will benefits from a coach's gain. (who care to gain 0.2 on a poor talent, it's already poor)

Since potential is inherited from random draws, not coach, and those are rare draws (talent max, week max), until don't have those high potentials in academy, coach level doesn't matter.
In other words: It's far better to have a Brilliant coach with much luck, than Underneath with bad luck. Lottery first.

Great information! Do you know if changing the coach resets the youth pull randomizer? I’ve read cases where people have very nice pulls with incredible coaches, but when upgrading to brilliant or magical, never pulled something good again.

II have seen and read those cases myself too. It may be pure random, like many things in sokker.
But since we are in bad moods (zero high potential) we can always try resetting (coach and/or juniors) it doesn't cost much.

Even if that were true, I doubt this game considers "16yo with 2-4 weeks to come out" as peak quality youth so this theory doesn't really make sense
2025-10-17 11:26:44
Quite the contrary. We can push "16yo with 2-4 weeks to come out" (and top talent, please) with a poor or high level coach, It matters even less.

That said, I'm not saying to pick the worst coach. I'm just saying that if you're unlucky, it doesn't matter who the coach is.

Some people may think that a top coach can optimize chances, but that's not true. Draws are independent of the coach's level. You can look at the problem from every angle, getting a better coach won't change anything.

But Top coaches actually have two interests :

1) Better evaluation of juniors (this is important)
2) Provided that there we have few high-potential players (as described previously) at the same time at the academy, the gains accumulate, it should be very profitable. But That's a lot of “if” that depend... on luck.

we are talking about a theory that the game has patterns for incoming youths (which can or cannot be influenced by changing coach / closing ys etc.)

the reason is some people think that after change they receive worse youths

my point is that the game - as designed in 2004 and not changed in this aspect since then - would NOT recognise the best current possible youths (16yo, low week number) as good/best, therefore this theory doesn't have much grounds
2025-10-17 14:46:51
Honestly did not catch your point. if game doesn't recognize best young players, what does that have to do with possible "patterns" ?

You mean that users already don't know how to recognize the potential of juniors, and that it would be better to focus on that rather than on possible "patterns"?
2025-10-17 15:40:37
I mean that the best youths pattern has shifted during last years due to shortening of season (which impacts youths a lot)

Years ago a very high level 17/18yo were potential cracks (like Miaso), today 16s with 2-3 weeks in ys are potential cracks

So even if the game was programmed in a way that it gives X as best youths, the X is no longer the best option that users want

Sure. But so what ?

Who said that patterns should be designed based on the “best” draws? Resetting could simply consist of “changing the patterns.”
Whether it is an urban legend or not, when you have zero potential in academy during seasons it's always better to try something than doing nothing.

Sorry to interrupt, good talk :D, but wasn't 7 the max level of a player when entering the YS?

I have this one: Tinel Stefanescu-Prodanovici 17 8 (solid) gk 31 14 (brilliant) - 17 (divine)

7,2 is max entry level. But in true level. What you see is coach estimations
