It is a well-known and heavily discussed 'feature' that created multiple theories by frustrated managers how to to bring the form up again.
When you collect and analyse all the theories, you'll notice that when manager a) shares a theory, then manager b) will state the complete opposite showing examples to substanciate his/her view.
All in all, I haven't seen any theory that was backed up with sufficient data. So I guess it is a bad formula which can only be limitedly influenced (i.e. no injury, playing regularly and successful)

That's because there is no consistent theory, only a theory that defines that an ''unknown variable'' is affecting his form. And because this unknown variable is different for each player, there's no theory to be followed. Figure out what works. Oh, and a nice sidenote... A player can change his unknown variable over time! And nobody knows what triggers it.
Nah, that’s definitely not how it works, there is no „unknown variable affecting form that changes over time”. This Game is in no aspect reaching this level of complexity, in fact it’s usually easy/straightforward.
There is a general rule for form based in part on random. MAYBE some actions/situations can impact the form trend, but that’s all there is.

Maybe some players dont want to play in some countries... for example, the europeans that come to south america, often drop form hard... :P
Okay, okay I have taken an example of a player 50+ weeks in bad form, thats roughly 4 seasons without talking his form getting above 12 ever but 12 is rather acceptable compared to 1-5 during 50 weeks.
So if i follow any theories ''maybe's'' then in RL 4 seasons playing as a key player playing for podiums etc.. then i don't see any logic here.
If there was a random then for 70 weeks getting bad form is a bit akward and weird to be honest, no player passes off the rails (regarding form) fot 4-6 years in a row in RL or in a game that just doesn't make any sense 1 or two seasons after hard injury i get that (it's not the case here)

+1 le Gazier. Form evolution is totally random.
But what ever, form has a "scotch" when form is beetwenn zero and 3 and too when it's beetween 15 and 18.
There is then more stability.
A sort of threshold effect or capping effect.

Nah, that’s definitely not how it works
You're as clueless as anyone else around here. I've seen the trend endless times over and over! Especially with players that reach their max potential! There's no rule, but surely there are ''random'' unknown variables that influence the form. If it's totally random, then why are NT teams struggling with form so much? Maybe not in Poland, since the pool is waaay bigger than any other country, but surely every NT has their issues with form and it's very often for long periods of time that these specific NT players are ''out'' due to bad form. In Belgium we had around 5 top class mids over the past 20 seasons who all struggled around tragic to average form for seasons on. And I'm talking about players close to 5 times divine, and even 2 of them were even more than 5 times divine and they played maybe 20 matches in total for our NT due to their form. U21 matches not included! I can safely say that whatever you think about how form works, this time you cannot back it up with proof! It may be random, but the random scale is damaged in some way, showing the variables to be more plausible than a pure random factor. If form is random, it should never park in tragic like form for more than 3 seasons. But the mids I was referring to had 6 consecutive seasons in extremely bad form, completely nullifying their skills and capacities. They were useless for our team, but they were the best our country has ever seen, purely skill-wise spoken.

They need to change odds a little bit, as form scale is to big and can be it stays few seasons below average with minimal fluctuations.
Or limit form extremes 1-11 or something like this... instead 0-18.

With form somethin is definitely off and something needs to be done about that, i totally get again a player with long injury needs 1-2 seasons to overcome it OK but not like 3-6 seasons jesus christ regular playing being a key player it's impossible. It's even hard to see a player 6 months off the rails, why the hell even having a 5XDivine player with tragic form constantly nonsense.
And injuries should make 15 days maximal, stacking can stay but only if owner decides to play injured player. And injured player should leave the field right after injury. Not that he can be injured twice in same action like now... Probably is doable to change this few things.
Ehhh... next time please try reading with comprehension...
I know there are long-term trends which make players have MIN/MAX form for a long time and yes, it's problem. Everyone who plays this game for longer knows that.
I was referring to this:
"only a theory that defines that an ''unknown variable'' is affecting his form" / "A player can change his unknown variable over time!"
there are no "unknown variables" affecting form... the game is too simple in all aspects to suddenly become complex only for form.
having said all that, I'm not sure people would prefer the "fixed form issue" which would lead to MOST players having form around 9-13 and only some having 0-5 / 14-18. I'm sure people would be angry then that "almost all players have no form".
