Sometimes it looks like tacklings/duels have an extra variable in ME giving a bonus to one of the teams. But from what I saw without knowing the player skills it looked well done by Brazil, they had chances 1vs1 with no defender nearby, high propabilty to score. Maybe Sokker thought that you need a new motivation after two titles?

In Brazil, we have a name for this kind of whining: "mimimi".

Sorry, but personally I saw chaos tactics – some kind of strange movements of defenders and attackers, and the whole center was exposed...
Poland started to rely too much on the fact that their players are a class above the opponent in every match due to the large selection. For everything else :) the programmers and the owner are on your side :) complaints about them.

"Every match that Poland loses is a failure for their coach"

I don't think that's fair or true. Ultimately this game is a more complicated version of Rock, Paper, Scissors. You can have the best players and do your research but if the opposition pulls out something unexpected, there's no possible reaction. Just set your team up and hope it works.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I doubt there are many people who spend more time analysing every opponent at World Cup and adapting tactics to how they play. Maybe you saw chaos tactics, but there was nothing chaotic about it, this what I have won gold with Poland and Germany at last two World Cups. Perhaps Germany was also winning because of "players that are class above the opponent".

Look at the goals, you will see that they have nothing to do with what you wrote. All three goals every Brazil player was covered by at least 1 player, every goal was scored in an away that had nothing to do with tactics. You write that skills of Polish players are crucial - how, when 16-18 form defenders with magical and unearthly technique are being tackled by a striker?

If you saw the skills of both teams and then watch what happened in duels tech vs def you would see how illogical it is because of the handicap.

I have no problem with losing, I know how this game works, I was expecting that sooner or later handicap will be too much, happens to everyone. But please don't say such things that "Poland started to rely too much on their players" because that's not true.

And why would Poland rely on the players...? Before the last World Cup that I have won Poland had ONE golden medal in 15 World Cups in a row...

Sometimes it looks like tacklings/duels have an extra variable in ME giving a bonus to one of the teams.

Yeah it works like that. One game your team is unstoppable and wins every duel, you get through ball after through ball, strikers score easily even from outside of box.
Next week same players can't dribble anyone, opponent wins every dribble and you can't make even one through ball. That's how the game works, it's easiest to see by scoring ratio but the handicap affects everything...

Brasil of course had good chances to score, but watch again the goals and look where the situations came from. Nothing, just a long kick from "safe" zone to a "safe" covered zone, then a mistake made by TOP defenders in TOP form. Nothing you can do about it.

Maybe Sokker thought that you need a new motivation after two titles?

I wrote before the World Cup that I don't see Poland winning the trophy and that winning even 2 WC in a row was crazy because it's almost impossible to do due to how many games you have to win without losing even one... with German gold it was possible that we lost against Hellas or Romania, with Poland at last WC it was very close to lose against Italy and I wouldn't say a word after those games because it was 50/50... same last week against Serbia, it could have ended differently. To win anything in sokker you need some luck, always.

So the difference in the number of players is so huge that I have the right to write it without any ill feelings towards the coach. It's one thing to play with top players in form, which is always possible for Poland, and another to wonder which is the lesser evil – poor form or weaker skills. I wrote it because he is good, and this will probably be a motivator for him ;) maybe.

Congrats again Diego, I think you did a very good job in this game, including the late change of pitch dimensions :-)

6 defender tactics was a good choice, it's very hard to create anything when someone uses this tactic with high quality players and it was defensively very well set up and hard to crack.

2nd half I changed the tactic to a very offensive one with a different defensive setup because I expected that you can try a very defensive approach. It worked against Serbia in 2nd half, this time it didn't :)

To be honest my original plan was to use 3 ATTs tactic (5-2-3) because I was afraid you will go the Serbia route and cover the wing. It was already prepared yesterday, but late injuries in Cup games made me revert to the tactic with winger.

poland’s def like kids and brazil’s atk like Hercules who take the ball like 20-def and cross a lot of defs like 100-tech.
i know that felling :(

What a day! The World Cup has just given us its newest chapter, and we now know the four national teams that will battle in the next round for a place in the grand final.

First of all, let me offer my sincere congratulations to the winning National Teams and their Managers. Well done, everyone you’ve earned your moment in the spotlight!

Now, a small friendly reminder and please forgive me for saying this with a smile let’s not waste our energy talking about “the engine doing its magic”. We all know it can surprise any team, at any time. That’s part of the charm… or chaos… depending on which side of the scoreboard you ended up on!
At the end of the day, what truly matters is who set up their team better on that particular day, and of course… who had a bit more luck sprinkled on top. Football even the digital kind wouldn’t be football without luck keeping us humble.
So instead of arguing about the game engine, let’s celebrate this World Cup together, congratulate each other, and enjoy the ride. After all, every manager who chooses to lead a National Team and fight for medals must understand that the engine is part of the adventure. Complaining about it simply has no value and certainly no entertainment factor.

Let’s take a quick look at the thrilling quarter-final results:
1. England - Azərbaycan 3:2
2. Brasil - Polska 3:1
3. România - Česká republika 3:1
4. France - España 3:2

Many of you have already asked me if I will describe, discuss, and analyze every quarter-final match. My answer: Yes, I will for you, the wonderful Sokker NT community! Expect detailed breakdowns coming soon.
Warm greetings from Poland to all fans of the World Cup and National Teams. Today, the happiest supporters are in England, France, Romania, and Brazil these four nations are already guaranteed a medal… we just don’t know the color yet!
Good luck to all, enjoy the spectacle, and may the best team reach the final!

I've watched a lot of matches :) including yours. I even wrote that you are good :) I just didn't like this match at all, what he did. Let it be a stimulus for you, just don't say that the skills and form of the players Poland is using right now don't allow for consistent wins with a well-set tactic. No matter how much luck the other team has :) it would have to be triple luck – Brazil's tactic was simply good in this match.

I think maybe you're slightly underestimating Brasils strikers. Top strikers Vs top defenders, eventually the strikers will win a 50-50.

From what I saw they counter-attacked you with long passes from a position where you couldn't stop them. They defended deep so you couldn't run through and they defended so wide that it was difficult there too. Personally I think it was a masterclass.

Do you think that if you don't change the tactic in the second half, result might have been different?

ps. Congrats to all the managers/countries that went through.

WC global table really interesting.
