Sokker is not a perfect game. And that’s exactly why it needs us.
Let’s be honest with ourselves. Sokker has its flaws, and everyone who has been here long enough knows them well. The biggest one is the match engine. You can prepare your team perfectly, win the tactical battle, dominate the statistics with 20+ shots on goal, and still lose to an opponent who had one chance. That hurts. It frustrates even the most experienced managers, and sometimes it makes you ask: why am I even doing this?
But here’s the truth we can’t change the engine. It’s been like this for years and it will probably stay that way. What we can change is how we approach the game.
Sokker is a niche game with a relatively small global community. In many countries, national teams struggle because there are only a few active users managing clubs. Most of us are veterans players who grew up with this game and new users join very rarely. That makes every active manager extremely valuable, especially those willing to take responsibility for national teams.
Despite all its weaknesses, Sokker still offers something special.
Every season, someone becomes World Champion. Someone wins silver or bronze. And every time, a different group of managers celebrates together. Beyond national teams, we build our own clubs from the ground up. We shape our squads, develop youth players in junior schools, plan long-term strategies, and compete against other real users in our domestic leagues and now also in international club competitions.
We have national forums and a global forum. We can talk, argue, help each other, share knowledge, and support one another. That sense of community is something many modern games simply don’t have anymore.
Yes, the game develops slowly. Very slowly. But it does develop. New features are coming, step by step. Something is being done for us not fast, not perfectly but consistently. And that matters.
Sokker is not about perfect realism. It’s about passion, patience, and enjoying the journey with others who love football management as much as you do. If you accept the flaws and focus on the fun, the rivalry, and the community, Sokker still has a lot to offer.
If you’re still here it means something pulled you back.
And maybe that something is worth staying for.

Two South American teams :X One European team and one Asian team.
There must be a misunderstanding. Türkiye is located on the European continent. At the same time, we are also on the Asian continent, among the Balkan countries, and also a Mediterranean country.
I'm expecting a final between Italy U21 and Türkiye U21 (two Mediterranean countries).

Asian-European country :) With amazing seaside and very good food.
Turkish food is among my favorites, kuzu sis with bulgur and fried pepers :X

I'm betting on the same ending :)
Italia U21 - Türkiye U21
Italia U21 - Türkiye U21
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a South American final. The game engine I notice favors slightly weaker teams.
Actually, an Argentina U21 - Brazil U21 final sounds appealing.
I agree about Sokker, it's an interesting and fun game.
However, you can't say the game is improving.. The form, yes, but not the substance.
They've ruined the NT system by removing the XP from friendly matches, which allowed good managers to properly prepare their teams.
Or by destroying true long-term club management, which was essential for customer loyalty and making money with more winners. Now in the Championship, the champion is the one who has all their best forms.. No merit.
In a way, it would have been better to do nothing than to make so many mistakes. The old Sokker valued intelligence and forced you to improve.. That's what made it such a great game. It's good to want to bring in new people, but it mostly ends up driving away the old ones to favor the mediocrity for win money.
In short, it's becoming like real life, whereas before it was a game that favored the most deserving. It was a breath of fresh air that felt good. Dommage.
Bravo Gordo, very good job.. Nice GK ahah ^^
Good luck at all, Italia is the favorite but all is open.

After yesterday's match, I'm saying goodbye to Sokker. The engine once again failed me in the most important match. I've lost my patience and decided to leave. I've already said goodbye to the Polish community. Today I want to say goodbye to the international community. Thank you for your cooperation, especially to the users from the countries where I was national coach: Iceland, USA, Czech Republic and Poland. Thank you all for competing with me and I wish you all the best.
Although some may not admit it, the match engine very clearly favors the lower-rated team. No matter what you do, you can't score, but the lower-rated team scores with just two shots. So, Norbert, don't worry, as long as this stupid match engine remains the same, these results will happen more often, and they already are.
Of course it does. There is no "if" about it, it's not a secret. There was a handicap for weaker teams introduced many years ago and that's why the engine is messed up.
But the "lucky winners" almost never admit to that, instead you read that they were "tactically better", when they had 3 or 4 times less shots. Nothing new.

After a handicap, it unravels.. When the strong team has the advantage, nobody minds, but when the outsiders does, everyone complains even though you're not doing anything to change the situation. It's a duel of balance of power.( translate isn't good i think.. in French it's " Duel de rapport de force " ).
The engine imposes a scenario, yes, but it changes as soon as you change tactics. The strong team has to do more when the weak team has the advantage, if you don't, you'll suffer setbacks. (Or the opposing team might also make bad choices (hello France xD)).
That's precisely what results in different matches with the same data, depending on who has the advantage with the engine. (Something we can't know, hence the need to anticipate, according to you're the outsider or the strong one.) And to play to its strengths and the qualities of its squad as well.

" everyone complains even though you're not doing anything to change the situation"
but what do you "want to do"? the handicap is mostly based on lowering scoring ratio of "stronger" team and increasing the scoring ratio of "weaker" team
you can have 25:1 in shots and still lose 0:1

I'm just saying that the game engine favors the ousider if they defend better than the stronger team attacks. If you don't change your tactics, you can play for 24 hours and nothing will change. The basic scenario would be 0-1, but you change to a better strategy and you win 2-1, and there's no problem.
(Against England, it's the same... 0-2, but I anticipated that and did everything I could to change the balance of power, and it ended 2-2, of not 0-3 that Krzysztof. Then the oustider can also anticipate your change and destroy your attack..
Turkey changed DEF in swinger to Romania, and him not change swinger, he lost her good choice to other tactic :/
Poland change nothing.. but Gordo also, basic scenario during 90' (Brasil changed DEF on the swinger)
Italia not change, but me i changed -_-' and i loose the advantage :( I played it backwards.. the fault isn't the engine, but me ( and a little also the change in the schedule.. with fewer weeks, we have players who aren't at the same level as before for nations that don't have a huge talent pool. The big talents are good after the World Cup, that's really smart of the developers too.. it's horrible with MID )
After, the oustider has a much greater advantage.. Because the developers have to compensate for their mistakes with the schedule change in NT. (And because it creates more diverse winners in the league, it's blatant ( all in form ahah). It's better for customer loyalty and making more money (in theory only)).
And isn't good..

Such a discussion is good, but it won't change anything. We all have to come to terms with this engine mechanism and keep playing this game, or walk away like Norbert did. For me, this is a game in which we have an impact on the appearance of our club and our players. We often influence the outcome of our matches, though not always because sometimes the engine interferes. However, we all have the same problem, which is why I'm here and play this game. Personally, I treat the game as a distraction from everyday life, sometimes with a coffee, sometimes with a beer. Of course, I want to win, but sometimes you have to accept undeserved defeat; that's how Sokker is. It would be nice if the engine were changed, but unfortunately, that's impossible based on my knowledge.
