Subject: [DEV] International Cup
Season #75 is slowly coming to an end. Ahead of us is the next one, #76, whose opening falls on a special time of the year – the holiday. The season itself will also be special, because you, dear managers, will gain the opportunity to compete in brand-new competitions for the first time.
International Cup
The new competition will replace the current Champions Cup, which only a few could enter. This change is significant, because in the refreshed format everyone will be able to take part. The entire structure will be divided into multiple levels to ensure there is space for every team. Within a single level, there may be several parallel tournaments, depending on the tier. At the top tier there will be one tournament, at the second tier two parallel tournaments, at the third tier four, and so on.
Each tournament will include 128 teams from different countries, split into 32 groups of 4. The group stage will use a home-and-away format, guaranteeing each team 6 exciting matches during the first six weeks of the season. After the group stage, the knockout phase begins. The top two teams from each group (64 teams total) will advance. The next six rounds, without return legs, will determine who will ultimately lift the cup.
The excitement does not end there, because within the competition you will fight not only for victory. You must avoid relegation or secure promotion to a higher tier of international play. Reaching the eighth round as one of the final sixteen teams guarantees promotion. Finishing last in the group results in relegation.
Exceptions to these rules may occur if teams lose their owners during the competition and become bot-controlled. Such teams will be relegated first, giving active teams a chance to avoid demotion despite poor results.
The first season will be played as a test in an arcade format, although promotions and relegations will still take place. Your players will not receive training, you will not risk injuries, and you will not earn ticket income. After this test season, International Cup fixtures will become fully official matches with all their pros and cons.

Q&A
Will the Champions Cup remain for another season?
- Yes, the Champions Cup will be played for one more, final season.
On what day will the International Cup matches be played?
- International Cup matches in arcade format will be played on Mondays.
When will the International Cup groups be visible?
- Assignment to tiers and groups will take place on Saturday, the first day of the new season.
How will teams be assigned to cup tiers?
- The division will be based on an algorithm that takes into account the number of users in a given country with sufficient seniority, as well as the league and the club's position in the league at the end of the previous season.
How do teams get into their divisions?
League positions are scored, from 100 points for the national champion down to zero.
The algorithm, which is identical for every country, takes into calculation the number of users who have been playing the game for at least 60 days.
In Poland, these 100-0 points range from Ekstraklasa (top league) to roughly the beginning of the sixth (last) division.
In countries where there are only a few users, the champion gets 100 points and then points drops to zero even within the country's top league.
In the extreme case of countries where there is only one user, 100 points are awarded to the champion, some points to the runner-up, and third place is the last to receive a few points, if I am not mistaken.
Based on the points, a global table is created, and according to it, a draw is made for levels/cups/groups/baskets.
And yes, there will be cases where a runner-up from a small country that plays at 40 will end up in a league with teams that play at 60. That was inevitable anyway.
People can strengthen teams in a short time or sell players, so it would happen anyway.
Maybe if someone is thrown into deeper water, they will try to raise their level?
The first arcade season should definitely improve the situation with promotions and relegations. However, it will probably take about three seasons to reshuffle the teams so that they actually end up in divisions that reflect their level.

1-I don't understand what level my team will be at in the international cup if I just got promoted to the first division in my country
2- How is it decided what level each team will be at? A second division team from Andorra is not the same as one from Poland.
3- Why not create a new international cup every season? Without maintaining promotions and relegations. You could be in the third division in your country, just training young players, and be at the highest level of international Cup. It doesn't make sense.

4-The injuries will be adjusted when it's no longer arcade competition, right?
5-We've carefully considered that we're forcing everyone to play one more match each week. With all that entails: more time needed for tactics, match preparation, buying and selling players. We had already added one more league match...

only club magazine is for plus owners? and tournament is for everyone?
I think rank of national A team can be reference for poting division :D
champions league can play only teams from 1-8 rank national teams ( polska to turkey NOW)
europe league from 9- 24 national rank ( from germany to Uruguay Now)
and conference league 24-48 rank.. and then you can put only few teams from first division into tournament. and every season you can upgrade or downgrade if your nation team play bad :D

1&2
Yes, a team from the second division in Poland is not at the same level as a team from Andorra. We have created an algorithm that selects teams based on the level of the country. It works something like this:
- each country's champion will start the competition in the top league (almost the same as in the Champions League)
- then, depending on the number of users in the country, teams are evenly distributed among divisions
- in countries where there are only two league levels, teams (human) from the lowest level will compete with teams from, for example, Poland from the lowest level
3. We considered various options, including creating a new cup each season. This solution also had its drawbacks, so we decided on the option with promotions and relegations.
If you want to play at the right level in an international cup, you have to be able to afford to maintain your squad. This will be difficult if you ignore the national league and play at a low level with juniors.
4. In the first season, it will be arcade mode, so players will not suffer injuries. In the next season, when the matches become official, injuries will occur. At the moment, there are no plans to shorten them or reduce their frequency. But this is not ruled out; there will certainly be discussion on this topic and data will be reviewed.
5. No one is forced to participate. The club will have four matches to play per week. In fact, if someone does not want to or feels they do not have the time, they can simply choose not to devote time to the international league. They can play with juniors or forfeit the matches. In the first seasons, the international cup, like the national cup, will not be included in the seasonal expectations.

Tournament is for everyone.
Tournament is for everyone.
"In the first seasons, the international cup, like the national cup, will not be included in the seasonal expectations."
So there's plans to adapt that, as well for the national cup then I hope?
So there's plans to adapt that, as well for the national cup then I hope?
That'e the plan, but it will atke some time I think. I don't know, 2-3 seasons.
So, basically at the end of this season teams will be deployed to their respective cup levels.
We play first season in arcade mode and after that matches will become official and teams will be promoted/relegated based on their results in the first arcade season regardless of who wins national league and cup?
Did I get it right?

What does this ranking system mean for the top level for the first season? Is it going to be first from all countries (98 teams) and the remaining will be a bunch of Polish teams? Or will it be filled with league 2nd place teams from the bigger countries?

The new games will generate more revenue and consequently fuel inflation here. If more playing time also leads to more exhaustion among players, teams will expand their squads and field more players. More players will be needed. This raises the question of whether it would make sense to provide more players with advanced training and increase the number from 10 to 12.

Top1 teams from 96 countries (countries with users). Than I don't know exactly, but possibly additional:
- 3 teams from Poland
- 2 teams from Italy, Romania, Brasil, Turkiye, Espana
- 1 team from next countries
Something like that.
