Subject: [DEV] International Cup
Suomi strong!
I missed Finland because I only took the 100+ user countries, very nice level:) Even more why I think it will be a very good competition, it will be also good to see how many teams from x country are at top level etc. and teams from very small (5-15 users) will have a real opportunity to compete with teams at their level

Only thing that I'm afraid of is "is it going to kill national leagues?". What is going to be a point of them if every team in the world is playing international tournament? Is it going to be more important than domestic competition?
I was thinking about it as well - again it will depend on country. In some you will be able to train and still stay at highest level, in some you will go down if you start training.
Financially it will be impossible to play at top level in international and just train in national league. Farming this way won't make sense because of high cost of players wages etc. combines with low ticket/sponsor income for losing in games / failing league objectives (constant low fan satisfaction).
Also remember that 50% of teams will end the INT cup after 6 weeks and 75% will end INT Cup after 7 weeks. So for most teams it will only be a tournament for first half of season.

4. [...] In the next season, when the matches become official, injuries will occur. At the moment, there are no plans to shorten them or reduce their frequency. But this is not ruled out; there will certainly be discussion on this topic and data will be reviewed.
Idea...
What if we halved injury times?
And the light injury only for the last 3 days.

Basically length of most countries' cup competition.

For 75% users country cup takes 1-2 weeks only :D and then they're left with friendly and league
"Why are so many users frustrated with Polish teams, (...).
Focus on yourself, try to build your team, train your players to make them superstars, make good tactics, use your experience, win the thing in your league, increase your fanbase, increase your rank points, increase your sponsorship income, increase your stadium revenue, grab higher reward for league placement or create your own plan of reaching the top and you will be able to compete against anyone.
If some polish club is the best, they would win, what is the problem? Isn't the point to crown the best? So called farming teams, they also invested their time into organizing training, seasons of suffering, losing, young player injuries to earn huge amount of money. Today, with advanced training, there are enough superstar players to fill huge amount of top level clubs."

To be honest, this "all are invited" competition is lesser and lesser atractive to me ...
I am that type of a player who likes to earn something so he can get involved into, which means that this cup reminds me on these nowdays school cometitions so, give us instantly and participation trophies too!
Someone above used Champions league as an explanation example. I wouldn't mind that CC be edited on the same principals - league quallity = number of contestants with, of course, same restrictions (number of clibs per coutry etc.).
If Imy players have to play 360 min. per week without any upgrade for that effort (like 200% trainimg or smth.) you can count on my 6 walk owers!

I don't really see the point
National League - all are invited
National Cup - all are invited
so these are "not attractive" for you?
All will play in INT Cup but on different levels and there will be only ONE top trophy at highest level
It's same as league model... different tiers. Some play in 4th tier and can be the winner, but the big achievement is to win the highest league, not 3rd or 4th league
If you prefer to play only national league or cup league then it's your choice, you can just train youngsters in the INT cup or give walkovers

You are talking about national competitions regulated by national football assotiations in RL, this is an international cup.
Do you remember intertoto cup? :D

Exactly that is the thing that bothers me! Have you ever heard for qualifications and q rounds. In which country all clubs starting the season with international games - none!

We are gettimg additional advanced training slots?! If that is the case ...
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of additional match to kill mon/tue boredom but just as arcade .

Yes, I'm old, I remember Intertoto :P
Again, this is a game not real life... do we follow real life rules and give guaranteed x places at World Cup to African teams and less places for European teams that are stronger? Because that's how it works in life...

I honestly hope we will, this should be considered since there will be more games for clubs, more players will be needed for bench, so more players have to be trained by all clubs to fill the demand... at least 11 training slots

This would be a changer BUT i have to remind us all - that add would refer to all so, imagine strong clubs with "your pocket depth" ;).
all new slots -> top tal 16yos ...
Friendly + Int. = 98% = $$$ :D

But while training youths in INT you will get eliminated after 6 games, so training will be available only for half of season... and sometimes you can't even sell a player after 6 weeks, if you can then there's ~30% total tax etc. so not that easy and lucrative even if you manage to buy 10 young players for 1st round and sell after 6th round when eliminated :P
but it gives many options and people can decide what they want...
part of the problem with many new slots (12,13,14 etc...) is that it would drive up the prices of youths and at the same time price out smaller/newer teams from "good youth" market. So 11 is ok, but more - I'm not sure... at same time if there is higher demand for senior players then it will be good for smaller teams, they will be able to sell trained players for more than before

call me elitist, but I see no reason to remove Champions cup for some Mickey Mouse cup.
1-2 league/cup winners should be allowed to play in CC, and this International cup should simply be a second tier competition that would allow everybody to have fun
This would be not far away from getting the idea to make National teams A B C D squads and let them all enter qualifications for WC.
And then sayimg If they are good enough, and they qualify, well they might as well compete for WC
I like CC and consider it to be the ultimate goal in this game, that required you to win something to qualify... this way, it will lose its prestige as theoretically, it can ery much happen that a team with 0 national league and 0 cups has an International cup trophy

Honestly I disagree, if anything you can make a claim that CC was Mickey Mouse cup... I'm not saying it was, buy if anything this name would be better for it than for INT cup
you could do nothing for 10 years, then buy a good team, win national cup season 1, then win CC season 2 - impossible with INT cup, you need consistency for seasons in a row
you say that you had to win something to play in it - yes, for example one of many leagues where rating 50 allowed you to destroy every team in country :P
~half of Champions Cup teams was playing for very low rating, while hundreds of much stronger teams couldn't play, for me it's illogical
INT cup will have ALL best teams in the world, instead of 10% of them...
it's the same if you'd say that you want equal number of teams from Africa and Asia and Europe at World Cup... 20+ ~80 rating teams in Europe, 0 such teams in Africa, but according to Champions Cup logic there should be same number from Africa and Europe...
~80 rating Serbia or Hellas would not play at World Cup, but ~60 rating Keyna would play instead of them and that would make the World Cup better and more prestigious?
