Subject: [DEV] International Cup
Damn.
It's always the same. The manager with the shitty pitch with 0 maintenance gets lucky and it is the visitor who pays the consequences.

I'm really looking forward to the new international competition. 99% of users are looking forward to it. Don't listen to the 1 percent of critics and those who write stupid ideas here.
I think some of my ideas have been adopted! Thanks! I'm very happy, it's a great day for sokker! :)
Just one consideration: the chosen formula loses the opportunity to achieve something magnificent: abolish friendlies forever. To achieve this, the international tournament would need to last 13 weeks, or at least 12. The first week could feature the first round of the national cup, with all participating teams, and the remaining 12 weeks would feature the international cup. This way, there would be an official match every week, plus possibly two league matches. In this situation, it would be possible to eliminate friendlies. My solution was this, based on a tournament of 256 teams:
"The Tournament, the basic unit of all levels of the International Cup, has 256 participants, divided into 32 groups of 8 teams each. The teams face each other in seven one-way games, from week 1 to week 7. In each of the 32 groups, we obtain a ranking from first to eighth place. In week 8 the head-to-head phase begins, in which all 256 teams participate.
The top 32 teams battle for positions 1-32
The 32 runners-up battle for positions 33-64
The 32 third-placed teams battle for positions 65 - 96
The 32 fourth-placed teams fight for positions 97 -128
The 32 fifth-placed teams battle for positions 129 - 160
The 32 sixth-placed teams battle for positions 161 - 192
The 32 seventh-placed teams battle for positions 193 - 224
The 32 eighth-ranked teams fight for positions 225 – 256
The 16 winners of the first round of the top-ranked teams fight for positions 1-16
The 16 first-round losers battle for positions 17 – 32
The 16 winners of the first round of the second-ranked battle for positions 33 – 48
….
….
The 16 losers of the first round of the eighth-ranked teams fight for positions 241 - 256
At the end of the head-to-head phase, in week thirteen, all 128 FINALs are played:
The final for first and second place
The final for third and fourth place
….
….
The final for 253rd and 254th place
The final for 255th and 256th place"

It's not stupid ideas those will be consequences and facts that once competition become official you will not be able to avoid
Looking at your team, you'll be in groups where you'll play against teams whose stadiums still have their original surface – obviously you know what that means since you've fixed your own stadium. Injuries will start happening due to many factors that have already been listed, so I won't repeat them, and you'll be singing a new tune. Not to mention how many quality users have moved on to training, and their teams are at your level while they are geniuses at tactics. If you think it’s going to be easy and fun for you, you’re seriously mistaken :)
I would like a game where each team train players according to the level of competition. Not sure what would be the best way to implement. but in sk you choose the way to play, you can train youngs and do some farming or can compete. What I see nowdays is that top teams can steal best U18 players from low division teams because of the economic power, can go to National cup and win easily many rounds, at the same time they train the best juniors 96%+.
If friendlies are going to be played in the IC day, I like a lot the idea as I said above, you have to get trainees according to your level. So if you want to train U19 you will get less ticket's revenue, but if you want to get promoted you need older players.
Teams in low division I assume will be able to get much better revenue training players than higher division teams.
My question so far is, after all this discussion, is it confirmed the weekly calendar when IC becomes official?
Edit: something lost with the new training system is that before half of your trainees must play on the official matches, so you needed competitive trainees as per your level

I train players of all ages, mostly from my academy :) So which group of trainees should they put me in :P. What you wrote definitely has nothing to do with the new tournament, nobody cares what you train or will train. Financial power can’t take a player from you unless you put them up for sale. 50% of my team is from the academy—I trained them myself and they play at a 70+ rating. 8 of the current players in training are mine; you just need to try out almost every player and keep the talented ones, and of course, have quality coaches, that’s the whole philosophy. Another matter is if you want to gather top players from 2-3 generations and make a championship team, for that you need a lot of money.

Man readin this...what's the fuss then to grab (even if necessary) 11 granddaddies and beat them without any injury risk. Honestly just pushing your belief in IC being bad is just not enough. Sokker as game offers loads of approaches it's up to you as a manager to adopt/adapt them accordingly. Honestly yes injuries have been an issue but just stating that this is the MAJOR issue comeon, in your example he plays against ''bots'' or almost then honestly he'll be able to win against them without ANY risk if you organize your strategy properly...

thanks, good for you, you are my hero

International league with all teams + International Cup with all teams (needs to be figured out) + friendlies and arcades remain. Then there won't be any discussion about stronger and less strong countries and or leagues with bots, then all active players will play against human teams and so progress their team to success or failure always two ways.
Why don't make separate server: Sokker International, all starting from 0, you can have 1 team/server, switch between them and have double amount of games if you want to. If don't, you don't have to. Everybody happy!

Do i intend to? Im happy with current and if any nice changes are made with future sokker as well.
If IC is implemented great, if next focus COULD be injuries, adjusting them accordingly all good. If not not a drama neither, just need wider team/bench. Everybody has to adapt. After all it's a tactic and strategy sport manager game.

If you happy with current why need change?
F.e. you can't win your league, something is obviously wrong, why don't just adapt your approach?

When change is your financial situation to depend on the performance of other teams from your country in this tournament is hard to adjust. even if you adjust and you perform well n long run 5 level structure will not allow you to compete in top tire if you are in 3 or less levels country...
In what sport the ultimate top tire tournament allows unlimited teams from same country? Is not international tournament any more. So that been said why is not domestic cup and has separate tournament as cc for top tires ?
Only fair solution is to create 5 level structures by merging countries ..

I'm more curious about how they'll handle the 12-hour time differences :) if the national leagues in the opposite time zone from Poland are kept at the current times between championship and league matches, there will be a 12-hour gap!
There are definitely a lot of things that weren't thought through, whether I like the changes or not :) they will happen, the debate is about doing things the right way. Here, no one really complains; people write more to prevent the game from being ruined.
