Subject: [DEV] International Cup
I wasn't handed any kinds of free money.
My goods:
- understanding of game and training mechanics,
- economy
- selection of talented players.
+ a bit of luck.
That's enough to achieve a team like mine. Almost everybody can do that. Doesn't matter nationality.

With a profit margin on transfers that low, I can all but guarantee you he's been handed free money in the early years. Why there's all of these inflationary measures now.
His payroll is over 600k US a week. In ML here we'd be running a 200k deficit a week with that alone.
This isn't like you, who has such a massive transfer profit.
I'm sitting on 12 million US right now and I'm scared to death to spend much more of it because when my team hits 27/28 even in ML and doing well, I'll be running a negative balance every single week. Until my defenders are done advanced training at end of 27, I won't be able to use a spot. Or, of course, I can stop training sooner, but then I can't have an 80 overall team like Keito seems to think we're all capable of.
Only after playing farm games for 2-3 calendar years, and doing it well could you do this.

Keito, if I started my team and kept a balance like yours is, I'd be bankrupt in ML.
You telling folks like Didiz to produce a better team is like the rich kid asking the other kid why he can't afford this, because my dad can. You've got a net spend of 11 million after 20 years.

(ie you want people to make smart buys, train up, sell etc, not day-trade).
day-trading is not a way to make good money since a very long time
you make money by training players for 1-2 seasons and then selling, I wouldn't call that day-trading

Why do you think so? Please explain.

I know so, because I was up there a few seasons ago with a 62-65 overall team, finishing top 3 for several seasons until everyone else got better...and I cleared about 2-3 million a season at that point. That was with a team payroll under 300k. (edit: my stadium was fully covered seats, started at 25k early on). I was making 450-500k provided I didn't play poor teams. This was with my fans being 100%
I'm not sure you're fully understanding what stadium income is like in smaller countries. It would be economically impossible for me, today, to have a team at your caliber without bleeding millions a season.
Now, it could be possible to not train any players, just sell trainees at youth and continually replenish your older players as you go...but I'm not sure you could get past mid 70s doing that.

you are not making good money in low Polish leagues from tickets, sponsors etc.
in fact I'm losing money every season, last season I've ended with -1.75m euro
at the same time I've never made so much money overall as I've made in last seasons, but because of training not sponsors/tickets... and that's possible for everyone in every league
This isn't like you, who has such a massive transfer profit.
I have the profit visible now because I'm at the point where I'm fresh after gathering money... when I will play at the top and get close to ending the cycle I will have barely any profit in transfers because I will spend all that I have gathered
he made the money (less than me due to less time spent on that) and spent them to create a strong team - that's why he doesn't have a huge profit
simply looking at income/expenditure in transfers doesn't tell any story

I will only tell you this, there was a team from Luxembourg that played for 80+ and won the Champions Cup
Luxembourg has 5 users now, back then had maybe 10 or 15
There was a team from Latvia regularly having a very strong team in CC
There's no such thing as economically impossible, the game scales in such a way that if your in-game income is lower, then it is easier to make your transfer/training income, hence why people go to lower leagues in big countries
Yes, it is harder to then finance a top team, but at the same time you CAN still train young players while also having a top team, which is not possible in big countries, where you simply can't use younger players if you aim to win anything. And with the new Cup it will be even easier, as you will be able to get good ticket money with a top team, while training & still winning in your local league.

That team was the sole team in Luxembourg when it hit the 80 rating milestone. Didn't he won the CC too? Or reached the final? But honestly, he's the only one in such small county to ever achieve that. I wouldn't last in a country with less than 10 active users I recon. I would've quit a long time ago if that was the case.
The only thing that is possible in smaller teams is mixing training with results and thus getting richer and richer each season, due to great sales vs championship play the entire time. But though it's easier to get rich, it's also less fun.

I joined the game after the shortening of the seasons and the coaching system, I was not present at a time when the sokker stuff still allowed teams to get rich, try to start a team in Israel those days and see if you can reach the same level as your Polish team. I know and understand what the game was like because I was here in 2006 until I was forced to retire in 2012, so don't be arrogant.
And in general, you're trying to ask somewhat weird questions in the second time, why didn't you build a strong enough team? Who decides what a strong team is? How do you know what my team's level is in relation to my league? I'm the newest team in the first league that won the championship the fastest, and since then I have not one, not 2, not 3 titles, but more in a very short period. So for me the team is good enough.
But bro...why didn't you build a good enough team? I don't see you starring in the first league in your country... How do you feel about such a strange question?

And the rating of 82 has nothing to do with the fact that he played against me, who is weaker.... The rating doesn't work that way. And in arcade mode, you play with your strongest lineup without thinking about involving young players.
I can only afford in Australia at least to train trainees maybe against 3-4 teams in the league given how even we are. Granted it’s still 3-4 more than top leagues. I think though our league does tend to sacrifice a game somewhere each week for training but it would definitely be selective.
The whole gate receipts/sponsorship etc is a very valid point and it’s not difficult to see that if they really wanted/cared but it would break some of the existing rules. I’d have more money if I was in a league with more active users/teams.
Transfers is also the other way to add to that as you’ve stated but to do so you need to be able to freely access the transfer market, something which for some of us at least do not have the same luxury with. Where’s the 80+ teams for those in smaller countries from non European time zones?
Anyway I think the international cup is possibly the best they’ve introduced to date but it will be interesting what happens when it comes out of arcade mode and injuries/suspensions/revenue come into the equation. I do feel like if they’re not careful it could result in even more unbalancing in income revenue but we will see if and when it happens.
The good thing is at least for small countries they’ve now got a competitive competition with other users even if they might be handicapped a little by having less revenue.

Don't be arrogant. If you want be better do it. That's all about this topic.
Sometimes you need 2-3 years to prove a point. Maybe he will be better in 4y time.
We will see. IC is a good place to observe the development the other nationality teams.
It's a great tournament. Our only request is that since we'll be playing an extra match every week, please reduce the risk of injury a bit, as the vast majority of people are complaining about it.
