Subject: [DEV] International Cup
hi guys
What does mean, in the ranking table, the red downward arrow and the phrase "Degraded to lower division" ?
What does mean, in the ranking table, the red downward arrow and the phrase "Degraded to lower division" ?
If you are in division 2, you are degraded to division 3 for next season of the International Cup
The bug is almost fixed now.
Previously, even P1 teams in the table had the arrow. :D :D

Not 100%, but I think it looks like:
gr1-1 vs gr32-2
gr2-2 vs gr31-1
etc.
Shedule is fixed, so you could already know the whole path to the final. If I'll find how it looks I'll post it.
What about this? We can see whole path to the final?
Have you considered that if the first and second-placed teams from Group 1 face the first and second-placed teams from Group 32, in the second final round the two teams from Group 1 could face each other again, or the two teams from Group 32 if they win their first final round match?
That wouldn't make much sense…The logical thing would be for the first-placed team in the group to follow a different path to the final rounds than the second-placed team in the same group.

Yeah. Can we get a confirmation about next phases after group one. From strategic pov im in situation where taking second place would benefit me (assuming I will place 2nd place from group 5.04) rather than taking first place
Some people wrote about future domination of polish teams on the International Cup.
Me, I believe International Cup will remain international. So, I leave this link here and wait for the end of season to see which team will get the first trophy:

idea is nice, but I can advise on a few points :
- first you need to define a value that you are measuring, that is in this case domination. If you define it as winning the cup, I would argue and say for me domination would rather be % of teams from one nation in, lets say 1/8-finals
- then define exactly what % is the domimation limit. Some would say 4/16, for some it would be 8/16
- then you wait for 5-10 seasons, make graphs and check the development
I would say we can expect minimum 5/18 teams, as there is always 1-2 Polish teams selling teams in Extraklasa per season... this will have tendency to go up, and probably in 10seasons we will have 7/18.
Would this mean domination, not sure... but I am sure polish players will like it, and in my opinion competition is losing that international champions cup where you also needed some luck and whete some "weaker" 79-80 team had chances of winning

When cup is arcade mode is one thing when it's official domination will happen slowly but sure in long run. When injuries starts to hit us and small economist can't compete with strong nations...
would be nice. I would like to see % of nationalities per division
I think my ideas for the International Cup were taken into account in the design of the cup: the implementation has many points in common with the proposal I made in the dedicated thread.
Today I want to offer two suggestions for the final version, which will launch next year.
The first: divide the 128-team "tournaments" into 16 groups of 8, rather than 32 groups of 4 as is currently the case.
It's much more fun and allows for contact with seven international rivals instead of just three. I'd like to anticipate an objection: with one-way matches, half the teams would have four home games, while the other half would only have three. However, it's easy to fix: simply split the proceeds from each match 50/50—an advantage, among other things, for those with smaller stadiums.
The second: after the first phase, with the top four teams qualifying for direct matches and gaining promotion by advancing, as is already the case, through two qualifying rounds after the group stage, allow all teams to continue competing until the end. To achieve this, the losers of each knockout round simply need to continue playing each other until a final ranking is obtained, from first to 128th place.
The advantage would be that ALL TEAMS would be guaranteed 13 official matches: 7 in the group stage and 6 in the knockout stage. This would encourage larger squads, but also be a huge advantage for training—more official matches for our young players—and finally, the possibility of not depending on friendly matches for training, which are often played 2-on-2 and make no sense.
These two suggestions can also be implemented independently of each other.

I think with their tempo it's already too late for such changes, but I agree that the bigger group could be more interesting.
As for "everyone plays every week" it won't happen because it would make the tournament a training ground. Safe tactic in friendly + IC = 99% training youngsters and then you could play first team in league. I think that could imbalance the game a lot.
as for:

I really don't like it. I don't think that teams with small stadiums should be rewarded because their opponent spent his money on stadium / teams with big stadiums shouldn't be punished with lower tickets because their opponent didn't want to spend money on their stadium.

I don't understand how you didn't have enough matches to train players :( I don't know how you can't understand that so many official matches will ruin your teams. Where will you get so many players for official matches - don't you realize that the risk of injury is over 50% after more than a match and a half?
