Subject: [DEV] International Cup

We had 4 league levels, 150+ users, and 2 games/week back then. And I was ~25yo... ofc it was fun! :)

I feel that IC should have some qualification process, for example best half per league.

Still I think the IC solution the way it has been structured is really good. It is a very good trade for many problems commented in the forum

Not perfect, but really good

Best half per league doesn't make sense, it would be weird if teams 7-12 from highest league in country (so in fact #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12 teams in country) wouldn't play, yet there would be place for 6th placed teams from every 4th league or 5th league. In many cases then it would make more sense to stay in 2nd or 3rd league and play in IC than to promote to higher league.

I don't see why people have an issue with IC, if they don't feel like competing, they can just use it for training = play best players in national league / national cup

Glory and fame? What do you even mean? :o) When you win, you win. Goal accomplished. End of story. Ah yes, there's a trophy also.

I still think it's stupid ... another league system with divisions that you have to climb for seasons, and you can totally ignore national competitions as many will

+1
Enforcing many games per week for all is best way to loose interest already several managers lost me with this approach...

wild idea, but... if you dont care about it, you can ignore it and your experience is not affected by it?

First of all - IC affect on supporters so, if you have 14 - 17 player ready to fight for national title but you have to play IC (probably on higher lvl (1-3), imagine what would happen wit 6 walkovers!!!

2nd - injuries: there's no need to talk about that.

3rd - infation: 20% reduction won't help in preventing the gap between old an new teams!

1. The domestic league and cup – what’s the point of chasing results there anymore?
2. With three official matches from next season, friendly matches should be removed from the calendar and sent to the arcade – the constant reminders are unpleasant, and they will be meaningless.
3. Everyone is chasing different goals in the game, but... the owners have their own plans and objectives :) so... adapt... enough whining.

not much because IC affects only "recent games", while league affects recent games + previous seasons expectations + current season expectations

2nd - injuries: there's no need to talk about that.

injuries can happen in every game, yet you still play friendlies. play IC instead of friendlies and train there, problem solved.

3rd - infation: 20% reduction won't help in preventing the gap between old an new teams!

do the math, 20% ticket reduction will definitely be enough to stop any kind of inflation happening, teams will earn +/- same as without IC
and 20% ticker reduction will hurt more those who earn more (20% from 1m euro is more than 20% from 100k euro)

1. The domestic league and cup – what’s the point of chasing results there anymore?

same as before - winning trophies...? getting more money from sponsors / tickets since league is by far the most important factor for fan mood + there's 1 home game every week (IC = 0.5 for 6 weeks / optionally more)...?

2. With three official matches from next season, friendly matches should be removed from the calendar and sent to the arcade – the constant reminders are unpleasant, and they will be meaningless.

why would friendlies be meaningless? they are the place for training. for anyone who trains young players it's a very important game to give 85% training. and with IC it will be possible to give 99%, so the young players won't have to play even 1 minute in the league (at least for 6 weeks)

The championship and the cup were the main stepping stones to play in international tournaments - that incentive no longer exists.
For me, the chance of a young player getting injured is the same in 90 minutes of an official match - hidden on the flank - as it is in a friendly + 20 minutes in an official match, which is necessary for 96% training - the conclusion is that friendlies are pointless. I didn’t say to remove them :) but to move them to the arcade matches, and not to keep reminding you constantly with a message.

The championship and the cup were the main stepping stones to play in international tournaments - that incentive no longer exists.

First of all they were the League Championship and National Cup, so trophies to be won and that was always the most important part... I find it curious that so many teams that never won anything in their country or even didn't play at highest level now write that "league/cup will be meaningless'.

Secondly, if you want to achieve anything you need good results in league (fanmood, tickets, sponsors), without playing at high level in country you won't be able to finance a strong team to play in International Cup because wages & player prices will crush you, so it's all still connected

It's really hard to understand for me. You play since 2009, you never played in Champions Cup during those 16+ years and yet now you don't see the point in playing league and cup in your country. Even though you never played Champions Cup anyway.

For me, the chance of a young player getting injured is the same in 90 minutes of an official match - hidden on the flank - as it is in a friendly + 20 minutes in an official match, which is necessary for 96% training - the conclusion is that friendlies are pointless

well for you, if you plan to only train in IC... others will play IC normally so for them friendlies will have same importance as before
and if you train/lose in IC, after 6 weeks you will need friendlies again

this season you decided that you don't want friendlies because you train in your league, so you would now like the game to hide the friendlies because you don't need them anymore. come on...

I don't want to overestimate myself, but from around 2014 to 2017, I could have played at the highest level in the championship – alas... For me, the goal and the enjoyment of the game is training Bulgarian national players, who are definitely much easier and safer to train in the lower divisions. Winning titles is not my thing.
Financially, my team has always been secure, I can show you players from my academy that I train, and if I sold them, I could build a quality team, but... that wouldn't give me any pleasure – and believe me, I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
Regarding friendlies... you wrote yourself that one of all the tournaments can already be used for training, the choice will be up to each person. Yes, you can comfortably train 4 players in friendlies with fillers around them, but that is...

Parvan Zharkov [39610018], Rusko Gerasimov [39548957], Gatzo Molotov [39513140], Adrian Sokerov [39547540], Svetoslav Gekov [39286513], Zlatan Petlarov [39340458], Maxim Berbatov [38976293] These are players that I am currently training. Look at the U21 matches; the ones with under 10 are due to form, not because they weren't suitable :) - draw your own conclusion. I won’t dig into the past players who went through my team. The fact that some hadn’t achieved anything means .... nothing.
Just... I wrote truths about people who find it difficult to navigate training mainly – I wandered for several years to figure out what and why... I don't want to argue... even less to give suggestions – it's been clear to me for a long time that nothing depends on the users.

It can't be more socialistic as this cup and this logic! :) If you take 2 000 000€ from someone who has 10 000 000€ will hurt him more as if you take 20€ from someone who has 100€ in pocket with fixed prices/costs? How?

1. The domestic league and cup – what’s the point of chasing results there anymore?

1. Real sportman's words! If you can't feel the rivalry .... what's the point?!
Or you're just OP at domestic L/C and you're bored there ...

2. With three official matches from next season, friendly matches should be removed from the calendar and sent to the arcade – the constant reminders are unpleasant, and they will be meaningless.

2 .There'll be four matches while the cup is going on - that means 360 mins in my last message context!
Injury risk is what I'm talking about*

3. Everyone is chasing different goals in the game, but... the owners have their own plans and objectives :) so... adapt... enough whining.

3. This is THE whining topic xD but anyhow you've missed the point here too.

Now, I actually do respect the way you are choosing players but not how you're playing this game ( for 60+ seasons I've trained only players from my youth school, and now I've decided to poke the whales from our 1st league - by training our NT players). But I've never been uninterested about the results - I have bronze from NC and 4th place multiple times in our 1st, Prva liga. In the top leagues btw there is a lower chance to play on the basic grass pitch with 40% condition which is a real danger for the players you train in lower leagues.

I hope that now you understand why is any minute played above 180 unnecessary and risky!
