Im not rooting for 8 more slots (dont know if you meant to address to me)....
My best shot to changing number of training spots would be 12 with max of 6 u21.... That would handicap farmers a lot and at same time help on squad size problems....

what you are saying is bring back part of the old system, which I like
Before (if not training pace) you could train hlaf on friendlies and half on official games, So you should have some decent trainees according to your league level

I think borkos is most of the time drunk lol. I like it. cheers
Nah I was agreeing with you, just adding more.
I would simply add +1 slot, so you can actually train a whole 11 for yourself. And +1 slot among a huge number of mostly training teams would easily lead to more "ok" players available to buy after being trained.

Im sure farmers who use safe tactics in low league games would be very concerned with that :P

have you ever agreed even with you?
These are just kind of ideas, an isolated solution wont fix anything as most probably will break something somewhere else. You have to see this in a holist ic way. And of course, complemented with some other solutions. For example having extra official tournament as IC will push you to have better players, the additional income can make you see the economy from another point of view.
Again, this and there is not a total final perfect solution

Well that's the point, I can see it in a holistic way, that's why I know what idea won't work and why or why an idea will work in a different way than people proposing the idea think it will :P
And creating ideas that would need other (unspecified, not mentioned) ideas to work is kind of pointless. Like creating a lightbulb on a desert island, where you don't have electricity or even a lamp :P

Even if 15-20% reduction in income is the right balance for income, it doesn't compensate for the increased injuries and therefore increased squad depth required. This is even further made worse if cards carry over between all official matches (increased cards, means increased players missing, means increased squad required).
Although I'm not against people requiring increased squads. Just making the point. So if the goal was to increase peoples squads, than it works perfectly.
As far as training goes, 11 slots really does make more sense, purely because there are 11 players on the pitch. It does give that opportunity for people to have a fully home grown squad without offsetting the ages of the home grown trainees.
The money thing is a whole different subject, which would easily be fixed by all players having a base salary (what it is currently) then a "bonus" salary as a percentage of the transfer. This means if you are going to spend lots of money, you really want the player, so that player should also command a high salary (not just transfer price). The rich will still be rich, the poor still be poor, but the gap, over time (we have already played 20yrs, so we have time) will either slowly come together, or not spread as fast anyway. This would also act as a bonus for training up your own home grown youths (which encourages people to actually run a youth school with a high level youth coach, once again helping against inflation).
But that is a whole different topic

Yeah, i suggested wage according to prize before. Its good idea to slow down farming.
How would that "slow down farming"? You make best money on training cheaply bought players
If anything it would harm high level teams because they pay most for best players
And it would harm farmers least, because farmers can have as much money as they want, so they will be able to have a top team with higher wages, "normal" high level players won't be able to finance such team + farm teams could start by buying cheaper youngsters (=low wage) and training them from 16-17yo. I bought a 16yo for 2.5m euro, who will be 5x 17.
In other words, it would be a great way to help farmers win trophies, not to slow them down. Completely opposite of what you expect.

This is of course part of it. But I also feel that having more official matches pushes the game more towards its purpose of being a football manager simulator. It's only natural that we should let our stars rest from time to time instead of letting them play in each and every official match. It's also natural that we should have to take a chance in select matches, giving less qualified players their time on the field and risking defeat because of it. Having to make these decisions makes the gaming experience more nuanced in my opinion.

Well, why than we had 6 boring matches in group to have bo1 in playoffs?
I would prefer single games in group but home/away match in play offs!

because thanks to that everyone gets guaranteed 6 games instead of 3 and thanks to that the tickets distribution is fair, otherwise the tickets would have to be divided by 50% and you could draw playing at terrible 5k stadium while someone else would play at 50k stadium
this way it's fair and everyone gets money for his stadium
