Subject: [DEV] International Cup

Most teams will play as normal. The people, like us, who do corner friendlies will be the smart ones.
I'm just happy I'm in a group I can finish top 2 in. With National Cup always having poor money unless you finish in the top 8 in my country, the money is bad. A fellow ML team is in the same division/tier I am (4). He hosted a game today and it looks like he made around 350k in stadium sales. He prices aggressively, too.

I'm thinking economically doing this instead of the Cup (unless you could actually win it) is the more logical play.

That's also my conclusion.

I even ever survived the first rounds and only got mediocre ticket money in national cup.

Actualy it is very needed to talk about injuries and approach towards this IC in this topic here, because DEVs will follow opinions during this season and might make adjustments.

I don't buy that argument. Injuries are not exclusive to IC-games. When the leagues were expanded, sviktorov rightly created the separate "Injuries"-thread to discuss the broader impact and the need for adjustments. The discussion there was never about adjusting the injury risk in just that extra league game, but in all games where players could get injured. Just as the case is now.

Much has been said already in this thread (and elsewhere) about injuries, so I don't see why Devs would follow opinions more this season as opposed to the last? Now that IC-games are official, injuries happen, exactly as they did already in league games, cup games, friendly games. It's not exactly a big mystery.

I understand people's frustrations and I was also surprised that no adjustments were made. I just wouldn't like this thread to become a mirror of the "Injuries"-thread with dozens of replies after each match day repeating the same old injuries-song. There are plenty of other issues, related specifically to IC, that I'd rather see discussed.

Too many official matches in one week, when one match already gives you 96% of your training...

"I don't buy that argument." Excuse me @elmomo. What is your profession? Are you interested in basic mathematics?

Up until this season, 75% of teams played 24 official matches (22 league matches, 2 domestic cup matches).

To avoid inflation – and to incentivize/reward those continuing in the IC (I assume so) – a 20% reduction in match revenue was implemented. This 20% equalization supposedly balances the situation by adding 3 IC matches to the 11 home league matches (a balance of +/- 2.4 match revenues is intended). Supposedly, teams progressing in the IC will profit, but near 50% of teams will be eliminated after 3 home matches and near 75% after 4 home matches (since halfish of those eliminated will be away, the probability of elimination after 3 home matches is quite high for this extra 25%). So, they can't even see a near minimal increase in revenue in the face of a change that puts people under a ton of match load and can take them out of the competition in the league or in IC, local cup areas cause of injuries.

In short, teams relying on income from local cup or friendly matches (minimal income) outside of league and IC matches will be in the negative, earning 20% less than in previous seasons.
Near 75% of the teams forced to cope with this deficit (let's exclude local cup and friendly matches) have to play 6 more IC official matches in addition to their 24 official matches. So, with a 25% increase in official matches, 75% of the player base still has to make transfers, pay salaries, and remain competitive while income decreases? LOL.

For those continuing after 6 IC matches, the situation might be even more severe, beyond income issues... You might expect competitive teams to play an extra 8-10-12 tough official matches compared to last season, perhaps with the promise of home income for one or a few matches. Considering the risk and duration of injuries? LOL

The insistence of "developer" and "some" users on not seeing the elephant in the room is ridiculous. (Or even funnier if they can't see the problem)
Many of the people active on the forum have already started experiencing injury problems by the end of the first match. As time goes on, the absurdity of what has been done will become even clearer with the increasing match load and the "things not done".

Let me reiterate what I wrote recently: the financial changes made with the introduction of the new IC tournament, coupled with the lack of injury adjustments, will either turn this tournament into a circus of young players (or a 1v1 corner carnival) for most people, or drive the "competitive" players to the point of giving up on the tournament, or even the game itself.

Devs, simple way to solve everything here.
You have tier level 1 to level 6.
Who is compettitive he will have more players in the rooster to. By doing so and keeping so they will need more funds.
Other who says i will keep corner tactict and train players, that is cool to. Welcome to level 6. They will train players at 99% and earn money.
Those who are competing but lack of money and lack of top players will be somewhere in the middle. So still good training but also they will invest sone of the money to compete.
Someone also doesnt train at all...

So just push money directly into competition level. When you play a game you get xxx amount. No money from attendance, just amoubt playing at this or this level. If you manage to go few more rounds, more money. If you drop out, then next season less money.. if you keep up then more...
So everybody gets money sole base on competition level, nothing is related to club fan, or mood fan or whatever...

I think you missed my point completely. I would like the injuries discussion to take place in the thread about injuries. That's all.

Now what is your point? Do you think IC-games will be made non-official again? That's probably just as likely to happen as reverting back to 1 league game per week.

Many of the people active on the forum have already started experiencing injury problems by the end of the first match.

Well, as interested as you seem to be in mathematics, how can this be a surprise to you? :o) Anyway, it's perfectly possible to not agree with all of the changes and still play the game as it is right now. Just like you do yourself. But let's talk about injuries in the injuries thread, which is about injuries in all competitions.

Hellou, how do this IC is player? Im in lvl 6. How Many teams are Promoter to lvl 5? For exemple im unter two in My lague, then is there 1/16 or 1/8? Or i get Promoted?
2026-03-28 15:03:52
I just came here to see the whining. So it doesn't seem like everything is a valley of tears. I won the first IC match without any injuries or cards. And it was against the best team in the group, or rather, the second best.

https://sokker.org/stats/matchID/43765633/teamID/95018

lol, 3 injuries + red card, start of season and this team is already fucked up

well done, great decision with not adjusting the injuries <3

That one was very unlucky...
Better team won :P

The injury problems have been made much worse by failure to adjust the schedule. If they'd just moved the national cup to the end of the season we wouldn't have this stupid situation of 4 competitive games a week for the first half of the season and only 2 for the 2nd half. We could have had 3 (and an optional friendly) for basically the whole of the season.

Full training, less injury risk, better balance. So naturally they chose the worst option.
2026-03-28 15:54:32
Then you would have most important games (national cup 1/4, 1/2, final + IC 1/4, 1/2, final + last league games for championship usually direct games between contenders) in the same time

first rounds of cup and possibly IC are not as hard / important for those that reach far stages

and you can't just move the national cup as you wish, because it takes 11 weeks in Poland
2026-03-28 16:01:09
I'm not seeing a downside in anything you just said.
2026-03-28 16:02:11
And you could get 2 long term injuries next IC game.

Then you'll be here whining too.

I guess my overarching conclusion is you can choose NC or IC now. Playing in both seems irrational unless you're rich and can afford 20 similar quality players
2026-03-28 16:03:29
so you see a downside in having many games at the start when they are not as hard / demanding, but you don't see a downside on having as many games in the end of season when the games are much harder and basically you'd like teams to have "all finals" in last 2-3 weeks one after another

and you don't see a downside in moving a cup that can't really be moved by more than 2 weeks (which basically fixes nothing) because it takes 11 weeks total

cool cool cool

"so you see a downside in having many games at the start when they are not as hard / demanding, but you don't see a downside on having as many games in the end of season when the games are much harder and basically you'd like teams to have "all finals" in last 2-3 weeks one after another"

Yep that's exactly what I want.

"and you don't see a downside in moving a cup that can't really be moved by more than 2 weeks (which basically fixes nothing) because it takes 11 weeks total"

No I don't. Shrink your cup if it's an issue, the whole game is more important than Poland.
