Would positioning IF at a high level mean players purposely move away from the position you have set them, to find space, and/or cover for another player who's been dragged out of position.

I ask because on a few occasions, there have been huge gaps up front and you think why not move there, but more annoyingly when a player have been dragged out of positoion, and your opponenet is allowed to run into free space and score is annoying

i think they should turn down the force that player headers the ball....its a bit too strong atm.

and i cant understand about taking the ball down with his chest.....its good to have it here but players should take the ball down to the right side.
example: the ball bounced forward....player followed it and when he cought the ball it bounced behind him.....now hows that possible in real life?? ive never seen noone not taking the chance to push the ball forward in a clear space.....hoes it possible to chest it down behind you? :s
sorry but i dont understand it.

everything seems to be ok atm.

Top strikers need the 3 you mentioned and defending is very nice. Playmaking was probably the 5th most important, and probably still is, but is now as nice to have as defending.

Mostly all positions except gk need all the skills to some degree (def don't really need stri), there's just variation in how important they are. And, like you mentiioned, how and where you play a player also affects how important each skill is.

Yes, but it was OK the way it was now, strikers needed now a little bit of playmaking too. But this thing is very "artificial": dribbling defenders depends on technique but dribbling keepers depends on playmaking and scoring?

It's not logic, it's not fair, it's not consistent...

That's putting too much weight in strikers' playmaking (at least, if they want to effectively dribble a keeper, and that's something that you can't control :().

dude go play ht! real players also need to be allround!

Positioning? It sounds like a joke to me. Then, What is PLAYMAKING?

"playmaking and scoring?"
No! Pace and Tech would be realistic to dribble the keeper.
And pm for deciding what to do.
2006-11-01 17:33:57
That's obviously not the case! : (

Dude, I hate HT.

I see you did not understand what I say (especially the part when I say that I favor multi-skills). Go, re-read, and try again.

And RL are not allround. Certainly not (which it does not mean at all that they are "mono-skills").

I agree, but that's not what they have decided to take into consideration. That's what I'm saying...

Positioning? It sounds like a joke to me. Then, What is PLAYMAKING?

Positioning is the skill the player uses off-the-ball to get into position for a pass. Playmaking is pass selection.

If anything, positioning is the opposite of playmaking.

I don't see pace. Pace decides who gets there first. When a keeper rushes a player, it's getting the ball away from him and in a place where you can finish.

So honestly, i think it should be, in this order, PM (mebbe 50%), Tech (mebbe 30%), and Scoring (20%).

I'm a pace trainer btw, so don't think i'm influenced by that :)
