Sokker Viewer's data is compatible with Sokker Manager?
I'm running a Danish version of MS Access 2003
If I push "VER", I got this error:
Sokker Manager was not able to determine the version based on the URL:
http://home.comcast.net/~sokkermanager/Ver.html
Can somebody help me?

i'm pretty sure i get that in the english version, too.
I still got this error when I scan one of my next opponent:
An error in Updated Player Match Results. DAO.Database --> Syntax error in UPDATE setting.
Is there a solution on this problem?

I no longer use comcast, so i guess they finally deleted that page, i'll update the link when i release the next version. Anyway, don't hit the ver button, it's just to tell you the current version of the code base that's out there, which as this thread states is 3.06.
I need to do 3.1 already, sheesh.

mwerner, plz sk-mail me the team you're trying to scan, or if it's happening for all teams. In any case, sk-mail me and we can discuss your issue.
(when you get that error message, try hitting control-v in the email to me - i normally store the SQL that generated an error into the buffer, so it could help me debug too)
Edit: When you do that i'll be able to see player data btw on whatever generated the error message. Probably not a big deal to you if just i see it, but wanted to mention it. Also that's a good reason to not post the sql here :)

Hi Guacamole.
What does GTF refer to in the Player detail screen?

GTF is my attempt at showing talent. Obvioulsy there are some limitations as to how accurate the information is, but i think it's quite good to me...
It is the number of "effective training weeks" divided by the number of pops. The lower the number the better. 1-1.5 is excellent, 2-3 is ok, 3+ is horrible.
Effective training weeks is based on the minutes played, position played, training type, and position training focuses on.
Obvioulsy the player needs to be getting trained for this to be really helpful. Oh, and it ignores stamina training and form pops.
Viewable from the last page.

however the report is still of about no use :(
weeks/pop also takes the complete number of pops a player has in one skill and divides it by the number of weeks trained.
in my case I have players that already made 2 pops from general training in passing and now I trained passing and it shows them as 2 weeks per pop when they are actually 4 weekers.
there are two ways to fix this:
1st: take a factor of 0,1 weeks trained for every week he plays (general training) into the calculation
2nd: only take the "real" pops into the calculation

I guess its quite a difficult calculation because of the so called random pop element, whereby, as well as the main trainign skill and position, you'd need to take into account the individual training attributes of your Head coach, and even your assistant coaches' general levels.
What a nightmare to try to calculate that.
What a nightmare to try to calculate that.
I would be happy with an adjustment of general training factors.
just like that option to change training factors for the other skills.
calculation would not be hard you can guess a factor and see how it works.
the other training factors in the program are guessed aswell :)
whats the use of:
number of pops 3
weeks trained 1
weeks trained per pop 0,3
the report is just wrong without taking general training into concern.

btw.
the report is also wrong for players who got trained but did not yet pop.
number of pops 1
weeks trained 5
trained since pop 3
weeks/pop = 5

Loop, that's simply not what i wanted there. and #2 isn't actually possible.
I don't think that #1 is valuable either, as i know for sure it's nowhere near .1 weeks trained for general training. Until we get a good estimate on the value of general training (which is hideously inaccurate anyway for anyone but really rich teams, as you have no clue if the secondary skills of the trainer are unearthly or tragic), i'm not gonna do this.
And to make the general training "factor" user-setable is just asking for people to tweak the gtf rating for sales purposes.

i've always said that gtf is more accurate for players who are receiving training btw, you have to take that into account when evaluating how GTF is a reflection of talent.
Actually, it's why i didn't call the field "talent" in the first place.

number of pops 1
weeks trained 5
trained since pop 3
weeks/pop = 5
And what do you think it should be? With 1 pop you don't know, would you rather it be blank?
Look at all of the data on the report. Or better yet, look at the user detail page.

its also not accurate if there is more than one pop.
number of pops 2
weeks trained 10,29
trained since pop 3,85
weeks/pop 5,1
you take
weeks trained/number of pops = weeks per pop
while it should be
(weeks trained - trained since pop)/number of pops = weeks per pop
