its also not accurate if there is more than one pop.
number of pops 2
weeks trained 10,29
trained since pop 3,85
weeks/pop 5,1
you take
weeks trained/number of pops = weeks per pop
while it should be
(weeks trained - trained since pop)/number of pops = weeks per pop

i've always said that gtf is more accurate for players who are receiving training btw, you have to take that into account when evaluating how GTF is a reflection of talent.
GTF is also wrong for my players.
its shows all my long term trainees with a good gtf (blow 2) even if they have a talent of 4 weeks or more.
you have no long term trainees?
check their stats and reports and you will see the problem I talk about :)
taking a small number of general training into the calculation will not effect short term trainees, but will make the long term trainees report of much more use....
/edit
my overall problem with the situation is that once a player pops you don't know how long it actually took him to pop.
I can only go back one week in the player details field, look at "weeks trained since pop" .
then I have to go at the players training graph have to count all the weeks between the last and this pop.
substract "weeks trained since pop +1" from it and then I know how long it really took him to pop.
thats a huge process, but its needed to see real talent :(

is that just wrong on the report or also on the form itself?
GTF is NOT weeks per pop. It wasn't intended to be. It's just an indication of talent for players being trained.
If your players who are being trained AREN'T below 2, they're crappytalents at your coaching level.
and again, if i take into account general training, your coaches would have to have a training factor from them of, say, .3-.4 and a new user would be .05 or so.
I'm NOT going to take into account coaches. It would just be too confusing.

I know its not weeks per pop.
I only ment that I have less talented and very talented players having the same GTF because the less talented one is longer in the team and has many "extra" pops from general training.
that's why I cannot trust GTF anymore :(

GTF is a factor of how effectively the training is used on a player, not how trainable he is.
Please understand, there's just no way to do this that won't just be more confusing to users.
I _COULD_ get the coach data, but if the coaches are shifted around (or whatever), it would totally screw it up, and make it much more confusing for all of the users except mebbe you, me, and one or two others.

What do you mean with "form"?
The only place where I see that "weeks/pop" field is the players report.
I took a screenshot to show what I'm talking about
here
trained since pop has to get substracted from the weeks trained to represent weeks/pop.

know what, thanks for finding that, i was wondering wtf was wrong with that, lol.
It's right on the player detail page tho, eh?

I'll look into it.
I think i'm gonna release 3.1 without the linguist stuff. With my new job i haven't had the time to work with the linguists to finish that.
But i think the lineup tool is neat, and 3.1 has a few fixes in it too...

and...when is the blessed event likely to be?...
Any experienced SM users feel like testing a 3.1 release for me to make sure the release is sufficiently smooth?
Adds the lineup tool... Didn't fix the report issue from loop but i'll do a point-release for that probably.
