Did you show greg it in the XML for the matches and the team and how it was different? If you've given him all the info and it wasn't easily fixed, i don't want to take the main developer and take his attention off the big stuff on one little issue on only one team's xml data...

I think i'll just make that tiny-but-ugly function and only run xml thru it if loading it gives the invalid character detected code...

I found this bug some time ago.
Reported it but nobody seemed to care.

So far I've seen characters 0x0, 0x1 and 0x5

Anyways, the only solution I could implement was a filter on the XML between download and parsing.

I tested teamMatches XML for team id 5249

I need to remove this characters
0x0, 0x1, 0x3, 0x4, 0x5, 0x6, 0x7, 0xb

could You check this in your software ?

this looks randomly :/

Yeah that's what i did, i took out anything other than linefeed characters that had ascii code < 32

Edit: You both seem to be good coders, so this is probably not needed to be mentioned, but i only run thru that function when the xml isn't loading properly due to an invalid character error code...

I store the XML in disk exactly as it comes from sokker.org, but I always filter it before reading (for parsing) due to limitations for catching this particular "error" in Java's exception mechanism.

hmmm, I'm currently filtering out only chars < 0xa
I'll check that xml.

Guacamole nice work with sokker manager !!! but im having some problems here.
When i start the app after that i applied the upgrade to ver 3.06 the database ver is still 3.04, dont know if it is a real problem but its one think that i notice. Another think is that it cant download the transfers from my team. And when i try to scan my own team it generate an error while it trys to updates the match history.
Well i think its all.
Keep the great job.
CYA

Just to complement the info about the error it is.
An error ocurred in Update Player Match Result. DAO.Database --> Syntax erro in UPDATE statement ...
That is it.

Database version 3.04 is the most recent one. Guacamole didn't upgrade the database after that one.

With this download problem I can't really help you, but I have problems downloading sometimes if the internet connection is very slow. For example if you are using a modem...

As i mentioned b4 the error dont seens to me in my connection cause it says that it is an syntax error in UPDATE statement. I got an 4 mb connection here.

And about the database ver i downloaded the full sokker manager just in case that i did some mistake in the upgrade n i found the database ver 3.1 not 3.04

I'm gonna release 3.1 soon, so i'm not gonna do any patches to 3.06. 3.1 is a huge change... If you're having problems, sk-mail me your email address and i'll send you 3.1 (although the player lineup part of 3.1 isn't finished yet, and the translation files are still forthcoming from the linguists).
