huge bargains imo. about first guy also
i asked opinions on an 10/9/10 skilled guy (just popped in tech) at 2 200 000 $ and was told it was a bargain (even though i valued him at 1.5M euro)
your guy has same sum of skills, 1million cheaper, and higher pace which is the harder skill to train!
2011-11-15 14:02:41
There is a big difference with your player..., the DEF skills and passing skill.
Of course this i a bargain, but not the same as you player.
2011-11-15 16:08:13
yeah sure but i really dont think hes worh 1million extra when he has (if you consider pace is harder to train) lower skills than this guy even
its why i considered his value 1.5M
2011-11-15 16:21:24
High pace level will not make the price higher on TL.
Strikers with more striker or tech have higher value.
Not strange because you can train 6 or 10 players a week and with pace 22.

I am on the TL almost every day and know the way to look at the TL after some years ;)

im just saying the skill level is higher in total or the total training as such...
and yeah, players with lower striker skill do sell a lot cheaper for reasons u gave
2011-11-15 17:18:39
Well, nice to hear that at least he was a bargain. :) I thought I paid a bit too much for him, but when taking a deeper look at him, he doesn't seem so bad at all. Nice to have that high pace at age of 19yo, so I can focus on the other skills, which will be trained faster, and that is just in my plans for next couple of seasons. So, he fits my training perfectly, has great chances for at least U21 team, plus he is Finnish. ;)

And I'll give a response for your comment. The prices change so much, that no-one can actually say which skill gives more transfer market value to a player. Some guys, just like me, make bargains just because they are online on the right time, when some guys pay a huge overprice for some player, just because there are a lot of guys online who want that player. There's usually no matter if the player has which skill higher than the other, as that's just up to users' training plans. As well the thing there are bargains and robberies, it is just too hard to value a players real transfer market value. We can just calculate the average price of the players, and then take a look if a player someone bought was below or under that average price, A.K.A bargain or robbed.

About those pace training things, what does if after all matter, if you can train 6, 10 or 22 players? Still we are talking about one player and his skills, and even if the amount of trainees matters somehow, I think that the fact that pace training is slower than the other trainings combines it quite a lot after all.

If thinking about the future, I rather train a player with high pace than with high technique, just because of the reason pace training really is slower than other trainings, so I'll kinda save training weeks if training some other skill from a.ex. solid to divine, than if training pace like that. If some of you didn't understand my point quite well, it's the fact that when a player gets older, and his skills have been improved already, it will take much more weeks to get a pop in any skill. So, at age of a.ex. 24, I'll rather train technique from A to B in X weeks, than to train pace from A to B in like X+1 weeks.

That difference of a week or two do not sound so big right now, but if you just can save that week or two in one level, it's quite a lot after all. You know, if you save 5-6 weeks in 8 pops by training some other skill than pace, that's one or two extra pops in some other skill. I probably got my point clear why it is so important to have high pace already at the young age, and that's because then you don't have to train it that much at older age, when it will take a lot of more time than at young age. + It will pop just by general trainings at least once, maybe twice in a few seasons, so that's just saving training weeks.

Lol, what a long off-topic mail I just wrote. But anyhow that's how I'm thinking about it, just tell me if I've missed something? :)
And one more book readed!

Mysi you are right indeed. thats why team who train pace should have 19-20 average age and very weak team :) training does get harder and harder to train compared to other skills. i seen a graph which shows that at age 24 all skills trainings are 1.87 while pace 2.3 comparing to 16 year old :)
2011-11-15 18:49:43
don't think so
2011-11-15 19:08:53
Mysi you do have quite a few valid points.

Always in the market there are 2 opposing forces which were just discussed here.

Hoewever, overall i do agree that pace is valued less than the other skills in the market. A very illustrative example is the following:

Players with significantly lower pace than the rest of the levels are much higher valued than if any other skill was lower. For example, for a striker, an excellent pace, incredi strike and tech is sold much much much more expensive than any other excellent / incredible / incredible combination.

The above holds true for Keepers, Defenders and Midfielders
