Subject: Youth stays same level in 30+ weeks
We were discussing a youth player who was trained for 30+ weeks, which was rather odd, before some trigger happy moderator misunderstood the discussion and closed it.
This was a special case and we were asking people to comment on other such special players who despite having decent youth coaches, did not rise in level for a long time.

I really want to complain about the decision, but as the rules say I shouldn;t, I wisely keep my mouth shut.
Well, that Danish moderator misunderstood the point of our discussion, so I started this new one.
People should NOT be afraid to voice their opinions here (or anywhere for that matter). There was nothing wrong about the discussions so we WILL have it here.

Has anyone else had youth players who trained under decent coaches for a long time and still did not rise in level?
Go concentrate yourself on more important things :P
Why do you keep him when you notice he isn't popping???

There was nothing wrong with the decision to close that other thread. It was a very poorly disguised transfer ad.
But the subject itself is interesting. I know kasimsietsma had a very poorly talented player which he kept and still is in his squad now.

he has a 30+ week talent i dont see whhy you complain....
Very simple, it's not allowed to make a link to a player who's on the tl. And we don't make exceptions.
OK a few points...
1. I think that the link to the transfer ad was at best circumstantial. I doubt whether anyone was trying to 'fool the system' or "disguise" the issue.
2. Maybe moderators can try to find out first before jumping in and closing threads. It's only polite to do so.
3. The point of the previous thread AND this one is to discuss abnormal youth results, not necessarily Divine ones.
Now that we have passed the analysis stage of the thread and the name calling, can we please get back to the main issue.
Can a youth player with 30+ weeks of training come out with absolutely no increase? Is a 30+ talent in order? Maybe it was a bug?
Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?
[BTW, I was not even the guy who published that player... :) ]

That's not relevant. Links to transferlisted players aren't allowed. And considering the link was put in the first post, so that post will be deleted, the rest of the thread lost its meaning as well, because noone would be able to read what was the point of the thread.
But also this discussion isn't very relevant. The previous thread is closed, but the subject is interesting. I've never seen a player that didn't pop in 30 weeks in youth school. I also think a lot of these terrible talents will be sacked before their real 'potential' becomes clear. I sack any youth player that doesn't pop after 6 or 7 weeks. Such a player might have the worst talent ever, but we won't know about it because he gets sacked.

What you are saying is common sense and good financial planning, i.e. rejecting youth that don't pop after 6-9 weeks.
But I was wondering if the hidden stats of youth players allow for such a long or actually such a bad talent. There must be some range... so Is 1 week talent the best, what is the worst? Is there a scale?

There is a hard cap, juniors can reach max divine+.999999
So the best possible junior with the best possible talent trained by the best possible trainers can only reach level 17.99999.
The best possible junior to start with is a good 34. And let's say he pops in the first week of training, so then he's solid 33. To get to divine+.9999 he can get about 9.75 more pops. So his best possible talent would be 33/9.75=3.38
So I think the best possible talent for juniors is somewhere around that. Maybe a little more depending on whether a junior can come in the junior school with max good.01, good.5 or good.99
