Subject: »Future NT stars (U21) NO ADS
You're quite right, but since many of you only play this game to train and sell players and not to compete, you don't see everything this player has to offer. For Serbia's U21 team with a low-block defense, he's the best defender they could have. I don't think his potential has been ruined; he still has time to train pace.
The probelm is that in long run (not taking u21 run) he has wasted around one season to reach 2x17 level, because pace training is slowing down horrendously after 24y old. I was training similar player for Nippon NT and when he reached superdivine from GT only he was 'just' 16 in pace at 26y old
I think this is better result of training

... pace training is slowing down horrendously after 24y old ...
Pace training is slowing down the same as slowing other skills. The Order of trainings' skill doesn't matter - for example - pace is training slower "20%" than def regardless of the player's age.

It slows down the same % as other skills so it doesn't matter, after 100 trainings the player will look exactly the same whether you start with pace or finish with it.
It's just more visible with pace because it's a slower training to begin with.
Raul said that it's better to start with pace once, but he probably doesn't understand how the training works, because training models based on data show no difference.

I was quite sure that it was you who said some seasons ago that the new devs found out that pace training was slowing up more than other skills
Yup, that's what Raul said when they made changes to training years ago, but the data doesn't support what he wrote then
Could you share this data?
As far as I remember, Raul's idea was that the higher age factor for pace accumulates with skill factor and this cause additional slowdown over the years, which sounds logical at first glance.
He also specifically mentioned a slowdown after 19y, which did not make much sense tho since nothing special happens at 20y.

when I questioned on German forum that earlier pace training was beneficial, Tsolias presented data to back it up.
Don't know how substantial that was, however.

Don't trust anyone... except Mikoos (and Borkos from time to time).
Do you understand kokos ?

Data = me trying to find formulas and parameters for calculating training progress that would match real training progress as close as possible in my excels. I got a lot of training data to work with, hundreds of players, and I got it to be pretty accurate (not 100% accurate, but close enough ;) ).
I actually started with pace slowing down more than other skills, but it wouldn't work, I had to bring it to the same level as it was for other skills. So I'm pretty confident that it's the same for all skills.

I'm training 10 players at the age 26-28 years old (most of them have started as 16-17 years old) and I can confirm that Your formula and simulation works very well. They are very accurate. Everyone of my players have main skills on level 16-18 and secondary 12-15, so I tested formula on each levels.
