i want to train tech for my mids.. is it better to play with def order or mid order? is it big diff ? in rules it says defenders train tech best..

Same. No diff.

Rules are completely outdated regarding training...

has anyone got any sites/guides for tactics? really struggling with line heights and spacing between def and mids. thanks

There are no real general guidelines for that, however, there are some basic ''things you need to know''

1)
- def order will increase possibility for tackling and faster passing / kicking
- mid order will increase possibility for dribbling
- att order will increase possibility for shooting towards goal

2) When you place a player near the ball within the tactic editor, the place he is vs the place of the ball is important for his behaviour.
If he stands below the ball, he will pass rather than dribbling. If he stands above the ball, he will dribble rather than passing.

3) high def lines are for offside trap, so fast defs are required. Low def lines are better suited for slower defs.

4) high striker lines will run offside faster, except if your opponent plays with low def lines.

5) Space in between lines should be compatible with your playmaker skill of your players.
if your lines are close to each other (compact play), high PM is not required, though players will play better and behave faster with high PM
If your lines are far from each other , your defs and mids need higher PM to be able to reach your strikers. Higher PM also overlooks more of the field.
So f.e., a player with very good PM will see half of the field, while a player with divine PM will see the entire field. It will be easier to make a better decision if your player has high PM.

great thanks for that, yes just struggling a bit with dropping strikers = no chances/shots and moving higher = offsides and also players beating my centre defenders and having a free shot in on goal. trialing different shapes etc, and feel my squad suits 3/5 at the back but not many seem to play that and feel it could be a disaster!

Honestly...against strong opponents...even if they are weaker than your team, a 5 def line is almost always a must. This ME makes it very hard for teams with 4 or less defenders to win, unless the opponent is not capable of creating danger.

looking at your last match, it doesnt looks bad. having 10-12 shot against is normal i would say.

I would recommend you to get 1 better striker (skills+form), your last opponent had a really good one.

About defensive line, I would recommned to hold a little bit more time out of the big box area, your defs run too early next to your GK.

But I see in general your team moves good

eh, against weaker teams I prefer to put them to the sword, I'll run 3 atb and just outscore them.

I don't like letting inferior teams hang around.

Works only at lower level, with a big difference between team levels where it doesnt really matter what tactics you use

2024-02-06 09:00:02
Cookie problem? Log out and log in again?
2024-02-06 09:06:40
It's probably a cookie problem, meaning that you see your old logo but other people see your new logo.
This is the logo that I can see. Is it the new one?

It's a cache problem. Push Ctrl+F5 and fixed
