OK, I got one more question... What happens with friendly matches tickets' money? Do I get the whole amount or it's splitted?
2009-02-09 07:44:49
In normal friendly match its 50/50. In friendly league home team gets everything.

One quick question guys...

Apart from pace, would you prefer to have higher technique rather than scoring or a higher scoring than technique? I mean, whats the point of having a striker who cannot pass a defender right? :P

Debends on your tactic. If he has to dribble through the opponents then obviously technique but if he's supposed to head the wingers' crosses into the net, then striker.

I think this question has been asked but I've not found the answer :(

How to convert avi to gif?

I tried windows movie maker but failed...

Thanks

I think if you play many variations of tactics, the best is if the technique and the scoring is nearly in the same level, or +1or 2 level of technique. So I think technique is moer important, but he won't score any goals without scoring.

another factor is the strength of your opponents' keepers. if you play against weak gks in your league, the tech-striker could score well. otherwise the high striker-skilled player could be the better choice.
2009-02-09 17:38:09
Yeah. I think the same thing. Best striker is one with tech which is one or two levels higher than his scoring. Many users play offside traps in tactics so I think trying to "sneak in" and score is not easy now.

I've heard other people say that if the striker has technique that are 3 levels higher than a defender, he's most likely to pass him DEFINITELY and SURELY. Not sure if it's true.
2009-02-09 18:05:48
I think it isn't true...

First of all: it's depending on the FORM!

Secondly:

I have a DEF-MID wiht magical technique, and I saw many times that he couldn't pass a striker or a midfielder... I don't thik that more strikers in my league has a striker with outstanding or better defending skill...

The third reason. The biggest factor in dribbling is the position of the defender and the striker. If the defender is behind the striker, he will tackle him more hardly as if they try to tackle from in front of the striker...

Hmm .Guess you're right. No wonder it doesn't work. :(

Thanks.

Game Engine Improvements
We are happy to announce that we are starting the testing of a new match engine. The new match engine will improve a few areas of the current engine and also includes some new features.

This new match engine will be used from now until the end of this season in NT friendly games and in regular friendly games starting October 10th (after all national cups are completed). It will then be used in all matches from the start of next season.

Improvements in the game engine:

- Wingers will now turn towards goal or cross the ball further away from the goal line in order to be more effective (previously they sometimes went out of bounds or into the corner where they couldn't be as effective). They will now try to avoid making poor passes backwards and instead may look to shoot at goal.
- The offside rule will be executed correctly for players that are off field. This will correct a small bug, for example - in this match.
- Half-time / End-of-game whistle will not be blown with a player extremely likely to score a goal – for example, with the attacker having dribbled past the last defender.
- 4 substitutions will not occur. There were rare occasions when this had occurred in the past - such as here
- Corrected the conditional substitution when a player is sold or fired,as you can see here.
- Sorted conditional orders, so in all instances, when two orders exist with different minutes to execute, the order with the lower minute will be executed first. (There were rare occasions previously when this did not occur)
- The use of tactics for defending players has been improved. In certain circumstances the previous game engine would think that the defending team had possession when they did not. It therefore would select a more attacking tactic, and would leave the keeper vulnerable. Examples of this problem include when there is a rebound from the goalkeeper or when the final defender loses possession. This problem has now been corrected.
- Match generation will not start before updates are finished. This is an important fix to the issue that happened a while ago where we had to re-run matches (the "ghost matches" problem).

New features:
- Changed technique/defender probability distribution during a tackle. This means that there is now a chance (although very small ) that an attacker with relatively low technique might be able to dribble past a MUCH better defender, or a relatively unskilled defender might be able to tackle a high technique opponent. (This will be closely monitored during testing).

There are no other changes made in this engine. If you notice anything different, please report it as a bug. All bugs should be reported on Bugs / Ideas (en) forum, one topic per one bug.

What are the primary skills and what are the secondary skills? not for any position just in general.
2009-02-11 22:43:31
primary, I would say keeper, defender, playmaking and striker (right column).
But every player needs pace, so it may be also considered primary...
2009-02-11 22:53:24
Thank god someone see's what i see. you could argue that every skill is a primary but in simple terms the rightside is the primary and leftside secondary. its a whole different story if we are looking at a position.
