i prefer my wingers to have more playmaking than passing. Thats just me though

Ok, lets put it like this,

This player

formidable stamina, tragic keeper
brilliant pace, poor defender
brilliant tech, adequate pm
brilliant passing, poor striker

is better than

formidable stamina, tragic keeper
brilliant pace, poor defender
brilliant tech, brilliant pm
adequate passing, poor striker

IMO.

When I look to buy a midfielder, the one skill I am looking for above all else, is passing, the one skill I think defines midfielders, and their quality is their passing level.

The top one just won't pass though, so will be useless.

The bottom one will pass often they just won't be accurate.

So the second one will be better because he will pass more often creating more chances. As i said though they just won't be accurate. The first one will just hog the ball right to the touchline because he doesn't have the brains to pass.

As krepa said if you take away a players most important parameter then he is useless.

The decision to pass isn't based on playmaking level though.

Yes, but clever positioning can get around that, especially for wingers.

As the decision to pass and where to pass are all based around playmaking. Playmaking is the brains behind a midfielder. Without playmaking he won't be able to make a quick decision to pass.

I noticed this when i switched to training mids, as i got better mid's(which all have higher playmaking than passing bar one! which is actually my worst mid becasuse of that) They started to link passes really well. All down to being able to react and pass quickly.

That is pretty silly really! why bother putting a lot of effort into clever positioning when you can buy wingers with nice playmaking? :) i gurantee your wingers have nice playmaking too though?

My current and previous winger have/had incred passing/out pm, though I will train my current winger in passing a little.

I'd guess it's not an opinion held by the majority, hence you're more likely to get people saying you're wrong with your opinion.
