What factors make a junior grow faster other than the coach talent?
2009-02-18 06:35:03
You mean a player who can't pass accurately for nuts but with superb playmaking skills can actually play a through ball out of the blue?

I was just starting to think of getting youths without playmaking but superb passing so as to train their playmaking.

the actual talent of the junior.

unearthly coach can give ~3 week pop's at best (just more than 3 weeks.. so maybe 5x 3 week pops and 1x4 week...

lower coaches will decrease this again.

obviously not all juniors will have max talent - very rare that you get one. id say anything above talent 5 is worth keeping..
personally i dont like a junior who is not going to come out of the school as formiddable or above.. theyre not worth anything much if they dont reach that level in my opinion.

Depends how many weeks they're in for. The lower the level the better chance they have of being 16/17 due to being in for fewer weeks. One of my best strikers for my side came out as a 16yo solid. He's now got 42 skill points in striker/pace/technique. I actually like the ones in for fewer weeks with high enough talent because it saves you the extra cash for holding him in the school whilst also having a greater chance of them being extremely young.

yeah i guess :)
but for me they have to come to the school as good then in that case..

it would be interesting to start a topic on running YS and see what different approaches people take to running it, with experience etc..if they are willing to share the knowledge

a player with high playmaking and low passing will pass the ball more often. a lot of these passes will be very inaccurate but there is a 50% chance (i guess:)) that one of your players can get it :). a defender will not kick the ball out of bounds that often either...

a player with high passing but very low playmaking will rarely pass the ball cause he will lose it first :( or if he does manage to make the pass it might go to a wrong player :(.

as an example, if i was in a lower league i'd prefer a player with playmaking 8 and passing 4 than the opposite.

however, in case of better players, when playmaking is not that low i prefer higher passing i.e.: i'd prefer a player with passing 10 and playmaking 8 rather than the opposite.

There is something in sokker called "league prestige" that is directly related this the number of fans that enter you fan club every week.

Every league has a league prestige value. This means that the third division in Uruguay has a worse league prestige value than the Campeonato Uruguayo (first division in Uruguay), but also means than Campeonato Uruguayo has a worse league prestige value than Ekstraklasa (first division in Poland)... why? Because Poland has 6,5 league levels while Uruguay has 3,5 (half levels are those divisionals that were created only with half of the leagues of the level).

My question is... if any country increases a half level, does league prestige increases accordingly? or is it that for league prestige to increase it is needed to introduce a whole new level?

Thanks in advance

I have an argue with one of my league mates...
he says the cup system works like this: there are 2 valoric groups, made by the rank of the team... and, after the 2 groups are made, the best team from first valoric group plays with the worst team from second group...the best team is the team with the best rank, obviously... and the best one plays with the worst one... that's how my friend says it is.
I say it is like this: there are 2 valoric groups... made by the rank of the team... and, after the 2 groups are made... the pairs are random... so, the best team from first group can play with the best team from second group, but can also play with the worst, or an average ranked team... the pairs are random...

who is right, me or him?:)

Random it is :P

Few seasons ago it was like your friend said.
And from this season rank points is what counts, not previous season league finish like before.

yes, rank points...that's how he said too...

but it's well known that there are 2 groups... the best half of the teams are in the first group...and the worst half are in the second group... and the matches will be generated between the teams from these 2 groups...one from first group with one from another...
but this match generation...it is random, or it takes count of the rank?
2009-02-18 21:40:10
Randoooooom, I wrote it already :P
2009-02-18 21:40:42
its random now.

I knew this, tell it to AAAlin :)))

I'm always right regarding sokker :D

yeah top half on ranking points are in pool A, bottom teams on rankings are in pool B

I also think that its based on the rankings at the start of the season, although im not sure..maybe its on rankings at the start of the week either, because i remember something strange happening in our cup last season to do with the 2 pools :)

also, @ question above that about league prestiege.. I'm inclined to believe league prestiege is also dependant on the average rank point of all teams in the league.

your example still holds because all the polish top teams have rankings >5000 points...
It just seems to be based on that, and sponsorship is aswell..
