Hi, what is the ratio age against training pops?, for example (assuming same talent training pace)
20 years old go from very good to excellent in 4 weeks
how much it would take for the same player to go to excellent if he had 24 years how about 26, 28, 30?

someone will quote the german forum for you ;)
but for pace its crap... anyone above 21 isnt really worth training in my opinion..as pops are really slow!
very good to excellent at 20 for pace is pretty good by the way ;)

if you want a star, you must train him also when hes 25 or older:)

what sub-skill is most needed for a defender? Technique, passing or playmaking?
2009-05-08 16:54:17
all 3 skills would be P E R F E C T!:)

but I think the most important skill would be tehnique, then pm AND then passing:)

and ofcourse pace and defener:)

depends where you play him, most people agree that technique is generally most important side-skill for defender, but if your defender goes forward, playmaker and passing would be very desirable

what is the acceptable lv of those skills? do u think weak or poor is sufficient?
2009-05-08 17:01:37
absolutely not! But with new teams with young trainees, there's no choice!!

"most people agree that technique is generally most important side-skill for defender"

at the beginning tech is the most important sideskill skill for sure but when your team becomes better and your defs have enough tech to control the ball pass and pm will be more important.

Agree, but for this level of football, chasing, tackling and kicking the ball out are the only responsibility for a defender

what sub-skill is most needed for a defender? Technique, passing or playmaking?

btw - you shouldn't mess up subskill and secondary skill. For me tech, playmaker and passing are important secondary skills for defenders. And subskill is the invisible part behind the decimal point - ie. a player is good in pace, but has 1 extra training, so he has pace ~7.3 and ~0.3 is his subskill.

Couldn't say it better.

playmaking is more important for wing backs.. if they dont have the tech as a wing back, it can be covered, whereas a centreback loses the ball in front of the goal is suicide!
plus playmaking stops players kicking the ball out of play so a wing back winning the ball and kicking it straight out is pointless... best to have a bit of PM there...
i still go with tech above both though.. although i aim to have all 3 sideskills the same
