depends on what u believe to be a better coach... coach with lower keeper skill will never be a better coach for gk trainer [;
2009-06-13 08:54:54
I mean:
If two coaches have the same wage and general appraisal, then the coach with lower keeper skill will be better, is that correct?
I'm talking about assistant and junior coach

..most likely... iv also noticed that if say you get a formiddable.. if he has 4 unearthlies, wage will be high, even if keeper is reasonably low.. so there are other factors also ;)

in my opinion, i dont think its based on general appraisal anymore even, more on the wage itself :P
id still go with the cheaper guy, yeah..

nobody really knows what it depends on.. longterm, just get what you can afford and try and get cheap wages ;)
as i said already..dont worry about 2-3k a week in wages if your going to have to buy them for 60k more.. you willl end up replacing assistants before 20 weeks have passed generally so the money isnt worth it ;)
iv not paid more than 60k for an assistant ever.. and i have 2x outstandings on 15k a week and onex incredible on 24k - 24k is high (i was hoping for 20-21k), but nothing serious and he only cost me 10k so the 3-4k extra in wages, an incredible generally goes for more when theyre cheap ;)

Thank you kenyard for the detailed explanation :)
I'm just wondering, is there any proved evidence that the higher the wage, the better the coach? And also is there any evidence about coach sub-skill may affect the coach effectiveness?
Because I read the rules again and it just says about general appraisal, nothing more :|

General appraisal

General appraisal of a coach depends on the sum of his individual marks for training each individual skill. It is very important for assistant coaches - the higher their appraisals the more efficiently they help the main coach. Additionally, for your sub junior school you should select a coach with the highest possible general appraisal. The higher their appraisal, the quicker your juniors will improve. The training of Team-work is solely dependant on your coaches general appraisal, mostly based on the head coach but affected slightly by the assistants.

nope nothing really... some polish user had a general training topic recently alright- think it showed a head coach with brilliant in one skill and unearthly in another.. and 1 general pop in each of those skills for a player over like 20 weeks.. there was only something a 2 week difference in the duration, so head coach plays a part..but not much...

that didnt answer your question, but there is a lot of info out there alright :)
ill see if i can find the topic ;)

quote one thing

He random popped to poor passing on 7th december 2006. So he did a full random pop in only 15 weeks!

therefore general training is about 8 times as effective as main training (that guy had 3x brilliant assistants)

cant find any other info on it there now :(

Which skills determine who is going to win the header (if both attacker and defender are on the ball of course) after the cross? Is that combination of pace & tech or something else?
2009-06-14 11:33:54
it's random
2009-06-14 11:35:52
Overall better player.
2009-06-14 11:37:20
na its random i believe
2009-06-14 11:41:27
Somehow I can say who will head the ball in 80%, so it can't be totally random.
2009-06-14 11:43:07
it's random

That would be the only logical explanation having in mind all situation with crosses I've seen in my sokker career. But with that logic, looks like player A would be better to have in 16m box then player B when dealing with crosses which is quite unfair imo.

Player A
poor tech
poor pace
divine striking

Player B
divine tech
divine pace
brilliant striking

because in 80% of cases you know both players involved and both their skills?
tch..

from what iv heard its random..anaconda saying so also..that makes the vote 2/2 so far :P
he's pretty active so would have come across it also

and as for the question below..neither is better to have in that situation. since its random they would both have an equal (50/50) chance of winning the header

it's not about this, I remember mauser said that greg stated the headers are random...
2009-06-14 13:38:08
that was my point... both have same chances to hit the ball despite Player B is much much better player but first one is having better chances to score since his striking is higher.
