as much as I know. 2 games a week should give the same training result as 3 games a week.
Question. If I choose not to play a friendly with the Swiss U-21's in Week 7, would any existing red cards be wiped for Week 8, or would I actually have to set a game for the cards to be wiped?
I've asked in Mod forum and will tell you if I get an answer (but devs are busy at the moment...)
Logically (as I'm thinking) it would be that you would actually have to set a friendly... should be like in the club teams...
how long does it take to improve speed if the coach has 16 for this skill?
depends on players talent and how close they are to popping that skill
let's say the player is at the lowest talent(1/3) and he is at the beginning of his cycle.
its possible for 1 week from [0] - [1]
i think there has been examples of [3] - [4] in 1 week even... with 100% training in the week.
generally you are looking at 2 weeks until [5] 3 weeks until [9]
4 weeks until [12] or [13]
etc...
also player age is very important..here is a good graph (say cheers to the germans for putting in the work for this)
so it takes 2 weeks for 18 year old to pop to skill 3.
then maybe slightly more for skill 4 so it can be 2 or 3 weeks.. etc etc...
this i believe is based on the player playing only 1 match per week and possibly only friendlies also which is a low % of training

Do others have problems with the clock, it's pointing at 15 past 12, but clearly it's not that early anymore :P
If my training is dedicated to stamina do all players train stamina or just those who are fielded in a match?
I read in the rules that training some specific skills don't necessarily require for a player to play games, what are those skills?
Also if a player doesn't play a game in the week he still gets some training or he doesn't get any in the skills that do require playing games?

With only stamina all players train, doesn't matter if they played a match. All other skills your players need to have played a match to train.

training stamina everyone gets it even if they dont play.
playing players does give them general training (training in all other skills except keeper) the rate of this training depends on your head coaches skills in each of them, and the assistants general skill (excellent coach, outstanding etc) it mainly depends on the head coach skills but multiplied by the effectiveness of the assistants (so no assistants means no general training)
also players who dont play in a week will get stamina general training when training other skills.
stamina is completely independant of gametime and just depends on coaches and if it is being trained.
(it seemed to me that having headcoach with tragic stamina meant players dropped 1 level of stamina per season, which can be trained in off season)
excellent = +/- no levels. they still drop, but also gain the level randomly.
unearthly stamina head coach means they gain ~+1 stamina per season
