It is a known bug since the change was made, and nothing happened since then... but only greg will know what happens tomorrow in sokker :)
2012-03-26 15:28:49
ok... thanks!
2012-03-26 15:29:28
so what if y make seat prices 20 and benches 80? will that do any good?
2012-03-26 15:30:04
I wanted to change some chairs to especial chairs...

But then, with this bug, I think I should let some normal chairs there... right? What would you do?
2012-03-26 15:35:31
I like chairs of one kinde the most, it is more easy.

the better chairs the more they pay.

if i had a stadium with all benches i could maybe get around 10 euro per seat, but now i have all seats under roof, i can ask 13-15 euro.

but with benches and seats i could ask 10 euro for the benches but around 8 for the seats.

mauser gave some very nice explanation of this phenomenon. I'll try to sum it up ;)

People don't go to the stadium, look at the prices and then choose their stand, but the other way round.
Every spectator has a preferred stand, if you don't offer him that, he will probably upgrade to the next better one. However if his stand is to expensive he will leave, regardless of the price of the more luxurious seats.
There's only a few spectators who want to go to the seats in the start, so to get more spectators on seats you will have to fill the benches real quick. If the benches cost the same as the seats, more people will refuse to pay for benches and just leave. Those specatators are lost. However if you reduce the price for benches, the benches will fill up and if there is no free space left, than the fans who originally wanted to go to the bench will most likely upgrade to a seat.

To give an example: A fan goes to the stadium and wants to buy a ticket for a bench for at most 10 euro. If the bench costs 15 Euro, the fan will leave. If the bench costs 10 euro, but is already sold out, the fan will most likely decide to buy a ticket for the seats for let's say 15 euro (if it's within his limit).

So it is still better for your income to make benches cheaper than seats, although it appears that, when both cost the same, more fans will go to the benches.

There is one exception on this....

if you have realy less benches yoy can ask absurd prices. (but yes, you still hev to sell them out)

but if you are a big club with lots of fans, you could choose to have 5000 benches and ask 25 euro. It will sell out and then the visitors will fill the seats with more normal prices.

But i tried and i still did not like it, you have to change the prices for every friendly, and lower the prices if the fans are not happy :D

In the topic [BUG] dumb audience (ticket prices) (bottom page 1) of the Forum Bugs / Ideas (en) jlw gave an explanation that seems to be pretty correct :) Or at least I can't find a big mistake in his theory and calculation.

but if you are a big club with lots of fans, you could choose to have 5000 benches and ask 25 euro. It will sell out and then the visitors will fill the seats with more normal prices.

The question is, if a supporter who wants to go to the benches first looks at the price (then he will leave) or if he looks if there are free benches (then he will upgrade, because there are no free benches)

In both cases you will probably sell out your benches, but in the first case many many supporters are lost, while in the second case those supporters go to the seats.

That is just an example of 'If their favorite place is sold out they are likely to buy ticket for a superior stand but they will refuse to go to an inferior stand.' (rules) with numbers, isn't it? It doesn't consider ticket prices.
2012-03-26 16:50:33
It is tested and if they are sold out the go to the next level.
If it is not sold out they leave.
2012-03-26 16:52:02
How can you test that? :)
2012-03-26 16:55:06
simply to see that there are no less supporters with high prices for the benches and normal for the seats than with normal prices for the benches plus that if the benches are not sold out you see way less visitors on the seats.

so benches sold out, no matter the price there much visitors for the seats.
benches not sold out (no matter the price) less vissitors for the seats.

You can see anything in those numbers without knowing the conditions (opponent, fan-mood, weather). The second game could just have been much more attractive than the first one, and it is not clear if you lost many many supporters in the second game who would have gone to the seats, if you had set a lower bench-price.
