I promoted to early some seasons ago and it was a hard lesson not to do that anymore ;) First few weeks are nice as supporters are happy and the extra income of attendance was nice, even when losing. But after a few weeks the supportersmood started dropping and I started to loose supporters, and because of a really low supportersmood also the income dropped from sponsors and less attendance were coming. So I think promoting to soon will cost you at the end when you also degrade again.

I have read Vilpu's guide and he recommends hiring a solid/very good assistant coach at first. Do you think it's worth having an assistant at this stage? I'm training pace ...

Thanks for your help :)

You probably don`t know, but this is my second team. And what I have learned, that assistant coaches are overrated. I prefer better head coach and weaker assistants + decent junior coach.

Get multiskilled head coach and at least outstanding junior coach. Most users might not agree with me though:)

Not cheaper though. It´s actually more expensive.

Interesting! I have also been told that Junior school costs too much at this stage... what do u think?

I was actully close to banktrupcy, but still survining thanks to income from friendlies and now I am far from - 500 000 euro. I agree that junior school is not the best idea for beginners, because it´s useless when you can`t hire a decent coach. But for me it´s a part of a game, makes Thursdays and Saturdays more interesting. I probably won`t pull a decent any time soon:)
However I have no idea about your incomes in Island second league. I am playing in 4th. So there might be a difference.

An option is to create some spaces (at least 6, because that is the maximum number of youths you can get in a week), but not hire a coach yet. As soon as you get a promising player, e.g. a decent 16y, you can get yourself a youth coach. That doesn't take you to a lot of expenses before really necessary.

Ok thanks!

I have decided to stay in the 2nd league until I have a team good enough to play the 4-5th place in the 1st league.

So I'd like to know what is the worst case for the fan mood and sponsors:

A: finish 1st in the 2nd league and loose the play-off (If I have not misunderstood the rules, I won't get directly promoted coz I have the 3rd best total of points of the 2nd leagues).

B: finish 2nd in the 2nd league by losing against the currently second so he finishes first.

for promotions
1 = top
2= first division, 4 leagues, one direct promotion,3 playofs
3 = 2nd division, 16 leagues, 4 direct promotion, 12 playoff
etc
get a close result... if its 2-1 etc you wont lose much mood.. or check in match thing what it says.. if it says easy win expected - then you lose, you can lose 2-3 levels..
its best lose the mood maybe now, so you can regain it in next few matches anyway, but not get promoted :)
pre season bonus = sponsor income x 1.5 so its nice to have high mood :D

For the next game (against the second), the expectations are "Your supporters hope the team won`t bring them too much shame in this match". So I'm gonna loose, finish 2nd and m supporter's mood won't be to much affected :)

Thanks for your help :)

you can probably lose by 2 goals even so... maybe even set tactic with crap keeper so they score a few goals and then have conditional orders so when you are losing >2 goals sub keeper comes back in.
just to be sure :P

don't forget to raise your ticket prices a bit when your stadium is almost or always full each time you have a home game specially when your fan mood is high and you have a big opponents ;)

for a new club, to raise the ticket prices step by step is more safer for the clubs finances than to build a new stand. only when your finances is secured (read: you have lot of money), you may start thinking to build a new stand.
