most dives nowadays are bloody disgraceful ( ngog ? )

the time has come for video to be allowed to punish these plebs . football doesnt need it , its a joke !
2009-11-20 00:21:52

2009-11-20 00:22:33
lmao :)

it was embarassing mate - i wanted carsley to banjo him !!!!!!

Sorry Juan but you are talking about a totally different scenario, as a player who hit the shot he could not possibly see if the ball crossed the line fully. Thats what the Linesman is for, he at no stage cheated or even thought about it......we are talking about a player who purposely hand-balled to affect a winning move in a hugely important game. That was purposeful cheating as was Maradona back in 1980 was it? There is no comparison any these situations so please stop saying it is. I am finding it a bit bemusing in honesty. Had Argentina lost to a goal like this to stop you getting to the World Cup Finals you would be extremely upset. Likewise if Rooney scored a goal with his hand puposely to knock you out of the World Cup quarter finals you would likely never forget it and would condone it....again and again.

You can totally see taht teh ball isn't in in the old videos, then Geoff Hurst, from the point of view you are all using, wasn't noble enough to say "Hey man, the ball dind't passed teh line" the situation is not being honest enough to say you took an advantge of a referee mistake, that's it.

Video with 5 mn of advertising before each action lol.
We will look at more publicity than football during a match.
2009-11-20 00:24:46
publicity could block out the french cheating then ???:)
2009-11-20 00:30:30
stadium in england loose their real name now, they new name is the sponsor's name.
If we use video, we will see more publicity than football and we will forgot the action if the pub last too much time lol.
2009-11-20 00:31:14
exactly :)

so , we should use television to catch the cheats then ban them after the game . it would soon stop all these muppets diving !!!

The rules say that some1 that touches the ball with his hand, that cuts a rival chance to score, or helps to generate a chance for yours, and it's clearly exaggerated/obvious, should receive a yellow card, nothing else, and te referee can only act when he sees the action, if not, no, he can't call something he didn't see. It doens't say the player should be banned, nor the player should hanged from the neck to death, nor should be executed by a firing squad like many of you are almost thinking. :P Football and FIFA have rules and they don't seem to want to change them, they would have done it many years before if the wanted it. So things like this are gonna keep happening, and, personally, I'm happy that the rules are like this, that the mistakes the refs can make are contemplated in the rules, makes the game human, prone to imperfection instead of seeking perfection.

i like more nani ^^

You're totally missing the point. It doesn't matter if it was seen or not, IT.WAS.CHEATING. Plain and simple.

Whe I shoot and hit the crossbar I can totally see where the ball bounces, if I can see it on Hurst's video, he probably have seen it when he shot. Plus, you are saying that's what the linesman is for, well, for Henry's play there's the referee to see it.

And you are right if Argentina or Boca would've been screwed like Ireland was yesterday, I'd be mad as hell, yea, of course, but I'd be mad to the ref, that's the one to blame, not with Henry nor to France. And that's the beauty of football, it's imperfection.

Yea, and there's a referee to punish cheating, he is not there as a decoration. ;)
2009-11-20 00:43:55
Do you play football? I played striker for years adn sometimes still play. I hit the post on crossbar on a number of occassions, only on 1 can I remember thinking that did not cross the line....and I did not celebrate.

The linesman is there to see these things as is the ref in yesterdays game.....but you cannot get away from the fact that IT WAS PURPOSEFUL CHEATING. Hurst's could not even be perceived that way.
2009-11-20 00:53:20
Yea, I haven't played in a while I have bad knees :P but I used to be striker(forward I don't know if it is exactly the same in english) too, and I could see if the ball was in or not. I'm not saying Hurst purposefully cheated, I never said that. I've sad in that situation he(and England) took an advantage of a refs wrongly called goal. The same way Henry and France did it, in any of those cases no1 went to the ref and said to him you are wrong, the goal is invalid, the same with Diego and Argentina, or Grosso and Italy, or Tulio and Brazil(we were eliminated of a Copa America after Tulio brazilian forward controlled the ball with his hand and then scored with his foot) and many more cases, football is like this and isn't gonna change, none of those matches were played again and France-Ireland shouldn't and isn't gonna. I'm sure about that.
