Honestly, I would prefer a free democracy with a rather (not totally) free market.

When was it the last time a European country had been attacked by a non-European country (I consider Russia European). It has been a very long time ago and in my opinion Europeans shouldn't be afraid of non European countries. The many times we had war was because we wanted to fight each other so we should rather be afraid of ourselves. What ichbins means that when we would be a unity and when we would have a joint army, there would be no reason to be afraid of each other.

What if we would have decided after WWII to continue doing things like we already did instead of cooperating? We certainly would have had some great wars again, but because we're cooperating with each other we don't have the time to fight each other (besides that there wouldn't be any reason for it).

Cooperating, economic connections are some aspects. Another is quality of democracy, liberal democracy of western style is very complicating possibility of attack on another democratic country. Union is not necessary for peace, anybody thinks that Japan will invide their neighbours?

But also its military strength of these countries. Dont be too idealistic about tendences in Russia or China, todays world still should be shaky in some scenarios. 60 years of peace - negligible part in history.

1. Afghanistan and Iraq were already in war when the USA decided to attack. Afghanistan is not in war because the USA decided they should attack some country, but they were attacked by someone else before or have you already forgotten 9/11? How can you ever not see such an attack as a declaration of war and how can you ever not decide to attack them of who you believe you'll be attacked with when you're calling yourself a superpower? It's just stupid saying that the US are war because they're currently fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. That only shows that you don't know where you talking about and that you just gave an example.

You're right, but I don't see it as an attack like an attack which is just against a country. Europeans were fighting with each other at that time and the NATO was there to intervene. I don't know what exactly happened, so I'm not saying if it's good or bad.
