Subject: Is European Union good or bad thing?
most of european people si no longer religious...which is turkeys point of view about that?
i think, we cant join. my friends are thinking like me. and our polititcians want to join. but you know in davos, our prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, I never come Davos again!
There are a lot of things to consider before Turkey join EU. First coming in my mind is the question about North Cyprus. It's impossible Turkey join EU before a negotiation with Cyprus.
Wikipedia: Turkey has a secular constitution, with no official state religion. The strong tradition of secularism in Turkey is essentially similar to the French model of laïcité.
But this isn't really true if you read the whole article of wikipedia: Religion in Turkey

i dont want to talk about north cyprus, it is our personal problem.
Islam is the largest religion in Turkey. But it is not official. In 1900s, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk ( 1st Turkish State Manager) made it that Turkey has no religion. Every people can come Turkey and live free with their religion.
And in Netherlands largest religion is Ateism. And what is Netherlands's official religion? Do you have?

What I know about the secularism of Ataturk is that it's beginning to break down due to very religious muslims who doesn't accept other religions. Even in your gouverment they are winning ground if I'm correct.
And by law everyone is equal, but in reality they aren't, not anymore.
In the Netherlands most people are agnostics (about 70%), but I think most dutch concider the Netherlands as Christian.
