2008-01-11 19:15:39
PS. the "brain drain" phenomena is one of the worst effects of the European Union.

Hello my brother and hello to you too, my European friends. It is a very interesting discussion between you and a very good subject. I'll come with my lived examples. I've worked with French engineers for DACIA Groupe RENAULT in Pitesti ROMANIA. It is if you don't find out before an automobiles factory. I can say cross my heart that the majority of them were lowest than their Romanians equivalent. I'm talking about their professional quality and about their character. This is maybe just an example, but it is one lived by me. Now I'm working to an American company with people from Europe and World. I can say that we, Romanians engineers, are at least the same professionals level than the others, generally speaking. But we have one and decisive argument: lowest salaries than the others. This is happen for the moment but, in the future this it will change. And if you want to talk about "low educated jobs" I'll tell you what statistics say: in eastern Europe the number of people that have superior studies is bigger than the western. Can you say more now???
All the best from ROMANIA!

"I can say that we, Romanians engineers, are at least the same professionals level than the others, generally speaking."

This is definitely true. The only problem is that it are less or that they're living in Western Europe.

"in eastern Europe the number of people that have superior studies is bigger than the western."

This definitely is not true when you mean high level education with superior studies, otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

Quite a paradox then that the Dutch and French decided to vote down the constitution as it definitely would have made EU far more open and democratic. I'm pro a federal Europe - I still haven't yet seen a proper argument for not having a federal Europe while I can think of several good reasons for Europe to constitute itself. It'd love to discuss it more but I'm currently writing an exam so I don't have time to do it before tuesday. :)

It's quite simple: there are too much stupid rules made by the European Union. Rules which perfectly fits to big parts of Europe, but not to some small regions. The Dutch are also afraid that their vote won't count in a big Europe because the Netherlands are a small nation. Another important thing is Turkey. Much Dutch people are absolutely against Turkey joining the European Union. People are thinking that the European Union is too big, other people believe that a Muslim country shouldn't be in the European Union, especially if the biggest part of the country doesn't even lay in Europe. After the referendum a survey was made why people voted against and believe me, a big part of them were valid reasons.

Btw: it's not about superiority, but about difference. That the average educational level in Romania is lower doesn't mean that Romanians are dumber, but that Romania is less wealthy and that less people can afford attending university or that there is less money for a good educational system.

You're writing now errors too..:)) You don't know that in ROMANIA the state pay a lot of university studies for more people than in other western countries.
You can study also who's wining the medals from internationals challenge between students all over the Europe. I could tell you, but I want like your curiosity push you to study this aspect too. Maybe in the future you'll not talk without knowing hat is about...:))
I wish you again all the best for your romanian brothers.

By the way I understood that Belgium will stop to exist like state entity and it will be divided between France and Holland.
2008-01-11 21:14:07
No it's not, we just don't have a government right now, so it could be possible Belgium divides into 2 new countries, Vlaanderen and Wallonië.
2008-01-11 21:20:59
That doesn't say anything. In the Netherlands the government also pays to get more people to study. You're not telling me anything new. About those prizes: please give me a link where I can find an overview of winners of those prizes and what kind of competitions it are.

If really Romanians are winning that much it doesn't prove anything. In a country where those prizes are important there will also be more people winning them. Those competitions were also held at my school and I can assure you that hardly anyone participated so we weren't disappointed if only a very people passed to the next round and almost nobody won prizes. A couple of years ago a student of my school won the international biology Olympiad, though the level of our biology lessons wasn't that extraordinary.

You misunderstood it. Dividing a country over two other sounds a bit imperialistic, don't you think?
2008-01-11 21:22:41
PS. Holland even isn't a state at all.
2008-01-11 21:22:46
Like I said before, there is a slight chance we split up in 2 countries, even smaller...
2008-01-11 21:24:18
Of course, but the chance Belgium will be divided over two already existing countries is nil.
