You are right, the thing with the name Aaron was strange, also Kate looking at Jack was very strange.
I personally am also thinking about what was before on the alternative timeline. You can see Desmond in plane has a wedding ring, so probably is married to Penny? You also see Ethan at the hospital, hurley seems to have used to numbers (and thus french chick Rousseau seems to have set off the signal with the numbers). So the bomb did surely not directly make the island go to the bottom of the sea, right? So there is still a part of the story missing before the point 2004 in your alt. timeline.
I personally think it is possible that there are two people at same timeline / universe. It did happen before with the timeflashes. They also flashed into times, when they were already alive (for example that time when you see what happened to Rousseau when she was still young: Jin found her. According to wikipedia this was 16 years before the plane crashed, so Jin does exist two times there, once on the island and once in Korea, I think there were also other flashes were people were two times on the island but I don't know which episodes now).
You are right that with Desmond it was the case that he skipped into himself when skipping back in time, but he was special anyway (forseeing future and all). So I think that your theory is very interesting and probably very true (so the old universe will be caused to be destroyed because of the many things that went out of logic there because of the fight between Jakob/light and dark (that is not over yet...) - like people being dead that should be alive, and others that have been revived and stuff like that. And then people have to find a way to flash to alternative timeline and cause the island to "drown" and they all have to die for this to work.
But then again I also would not like that, because this leads to the fact that most of the things on the island will never be explained at all. I would hate that but I think it is impossible to explain everything...

Just because Hurley won the lottery doesn't mean he used the numbers and even if he did, they wouldn't mean anything if the island never existed. Just another faint memory for him and there's no reason the lottery numbers would be any different in the other reality.

Hmm but that would be a memory BEFORE the plane crashed and that is not very likely ;) then Locke would not sit in the wheel chair because he magically remembered he would fall out of this building.
Hurley won the lottery with the numbers from Rousseau, so the Island is not just whiped out. And Horace is already on the island when the bomb explodes, right? Just like Eloise Hawking and the father of Miles. It is possible that the bomb exploded. But it is not very likely that it did cause the island to sink to the bottom of the sea or was whiped out by it.

Well but then the "new timeline" would have to start quite a bit before the flight, so Hurley remembers this number "somehow". But yes, like this the theory is possible, but that aspect of it is not really likely. ;)
the guys having that memories before the flight would also add the possibility that some people did not go on board, because they had the "idea" that the flight would crash :P So I think IF there was something "transformed" between the two realities, then it most likely did transfer in the moment the plane crashed in real timeline (when Jack got the injury).

I was thinking about my theory last night and came up with a problem. When you zoom down to the sunken island, you see the Dharma logo on the shark, which kind of kills my idea about the past being destroyed entirely. I think it depends on when the end of time loops back to, which could be the moment of the bomb but I'm suspecting it's maybe some time afterwards.
Getting back onto what's happening now anyway, I'm fairly confident that Sawyer isn't going to survive much longer. Not only does the trailer show him talking to Smokey and lead to some sort of cave but in terms of storyline there's not much left for him. Juliet is dead, his thing with Kate is over, he killed the guy responsible for his parents death, he doesn't serve much purpose anymore. Of course he probably won't be killed off until we get his Alt X story.
hmm I think there will be some sort of fight light against dark before the end with Losties on both sides. I would say that Sawyer will join Smokie, together with other Losties (probably the "evil" ones: Kate, Claire, Jin and later also Sayid and Ben) and fight against the tempel guys Hurley, Jack, Miles, Sun, Lapidus.
The thing with Juliet is there to give Sawyer a reason to behave irrationally and opens up the way to this.

Yep I think they're about to start taking sides too. I think the natives may have made a mistake by diagnosing Sayid and Claire but we'll see.
Lapidus..., there's an episode near the end called "The Candidate" which is something he was referred to as by Bram and Illana. Candidate for what? I'm expecting whoever it is will be sacrificed for Jacob to assume his form. I can't see it being Frank really. Locke Vs Lapidus would be a strange way to end things.
