Hmm but the other numbers do match in cave and lighthouse, so it is one or the other. The irritating thing about this episode:

- The person names (like "Shepard") on the wheel in the lighthouse were written with "fresher" ink than the other names. At least it did seem to me that way. Same ink as on hurleys arm? Where did he get the ink/pencil from anyway? Does leave a biiig question mark for me. Rest is what was expected from me a page back. Both sides try to recruit their guys to stand and fight for them.

So far:

Smokey (I will call him that although I do not agree that this guy is the smokemonster, he just is able to use it): Sawyer, Claire, tries to recruit Jin and probably Sayid
Jacob: Richard and trying to recruit Jack and Hurley.

Not all the numbers match. And just going off on a technicality, Jacobs Ladder is supposed to ascend to heaven. The fact that that ladder goes downwards suggests that the cave doesn't belong to Jacob, just like the cabin doesn't.
And Smokey is clearly MIB, he's admitted as much and the POV cam last week should make that clear.

There were also 2 names that weren't crossed off who we don't know. Kysea and Haasea, I'd guess the similarity in names isn't a coincidence.

Well all numbers I have seen match.
Who said that Jacobs ladder is supposed to ascend to heaven? What ladder are you refering to that does not?

Nah, the POV cam did show that MIB sees what the smokemonster sees. But you CLEARLY see him "switching" between different "smoke monsters" and see what they see but you NEVER saw him materialise directly out of the smokemonster into Locke. But of course it is deliberately made in a way to fool you.
Remember that Ben answered to Jakob and had a device to call the smokemonster to his aid even in the camp. How weird would that be if the smokemonster was MIB.

Hmm I am not sure about those names. I cannot really tell if they really are not crossed out or only slightly crossed out. But there was a major flaw there with the wheel. You can see three houses. You can see the house where Sun and Jin were married (where Jakob met them), you can see the church where Sawyer did meet Jakob and then you see Jacks house. But the wheel first started in high levels, it would never have hit the numbers of those guys at all before hitting 108!! And if it was below the the wheel would have to be turned in the other direction (so numbers going up and not down). The houses where shown first Sun&Jin (number 42), then Sawyer (number 15) and then Jack (number 23). This makes no sense if the wheel is turned into same direction. You should have seen Kates house and Sayids as well. :P

You can expect another Smokey massacre coming very soon.

Wasn't him refering to Claire? Well, Claire is with Smokey, so it's kinda the same.

Did you see the baby doll in the crib? Didn't reminded you to the statue where Jacob was in? Since season 5 I'm convinced that Jacob is Aaron, this is making me believe it even more.

Other thing is Jacob is acting like if he was God, he is like pushing everyboy's buttons, he is like the master puppetier, when he says to Hurley "sometimes you get into some stranger's cab and tell them what to do, and others you let them stare at the ocean", that really reminds me to that phrase: "God acts in misterious ways".

About the pen the names are written with, doens't seem to be the same as Hurley's, Hurley's it's blue and the names of Shepard and Jarrah are like in dark grey/black, more likely to have been written with a pencil, while Ford is written in pencil but seems to have been written way before than Shepard and Jarrah cause it's kinda a light grey, more blurry.

He said something like "He is going to the temple, it's too late to stop it"
2010-02-24 22:38:07
Yea, and Claire is mad cause Jin told her that the others have Aaron in the temple. He might be referring to Locke with Claire, hen he said "He". ;)

About the light house I thought that Jacob was trying to bring the Black Pearl, first, but then he seems to have been playing tricks on Jack's mind. Thought I think it's possible the Black Pearl to show up sometime later.

No, I watched it again and Jacob says: "you can't go to warn them Hugo, I'm sorry it's too late" and before that he always refers to some1 bad that is going to the temple, he doesn't says if it's a he or a she. ;)

Good episode - and yet another new location :-)

I've accepted that I'm no Sherlock Holmes and as such I'll just let the season take me by surprise. Nice guesswork done in here though!

hmm... if Jakob was Aaron, then he probably would not know anything about that himself, right? Because Jakob did not really react on Claire until now. But I also think that Aaron will play a role on the Island. Remember what that woman said to Claire in Season 1 or 2? She said something like: "if Aaron will not grow up with you, it will turn out very very bad" (I am not sure if she refered to Aaron becoming dangerous and bad, if she meant Claire turning evil or if she meant the world to end :P). Fact is, Aaron really did grow up without Claire, so I expect him to play an evil part in this "game".

Yea, Jakob is manipulative just like Ben was before. I seriously hate that but probably it is for the women that watch the series :P :D I am still wondering if he wanted to convert jack with that act or if he just wanted to destroy that mirror/gate-thingy.

Yea you are right, it is not same ink. Still it is strange that Shepard and Jarrah are written in different ink.

So I want a hurley or a desmond episode now :D

Thinking logically

If Claire keeps Aaron she escapes (or not, it doesn't matter)
Claire never becomes friends with the Locke-a-like
And whatever happens next, wouldn't happen.

What happens next is what I expect they mean by "Very bad things will happen"

What is interesting is Kate's dream. Claire tells Kate "Don't bring him back". Now who is responsible for that?

Obviously it isn't Claire because she doesn't know he's off island.
You'd assume Jacob would want Aaron back with Claire, so not him.
I believe it's the Locke-a-like who doesn't want Aaron back, probably because Aaron is the one candidate who can't be manipulated into putting themselves in danger. He was the one who lured Claire away from Aaron in the first place.

This all seems like a big game of elimination. Smokey isn't allowed to kill the candidates unless they
fail the candidate test but he can manipulate them into leaving or killing themselves.
I have been wondering if Desmonds visions of Charlie's death were simply Smokey conning both of them.

And Jacob wanted Jack to see that he was special and that he as brought to the island for a reason. As he said "Some people you can tell what to do, others (meaning leaders) have to work it out for themselves"

very good theory.
The loke-look-alike could also "possess" Claire if you she really died in the rocket-attack (some people say that is the reason why she is now "infected", because she died and wasn't buried. Like Sayid), so it would make sense for loke-look-alike Claire to tell Kate not to bring him back.

Hmm yes, Charlie was on the list. So that makes sense. Remember that Hurley also had to fight against his imagination to not kill himself? When Jack runs after his father he also almost got killed. Atm it looks like Jakob brings people to the island and man-in-black tries to eliminate as many as he is able to. At least that is what he did at first and the "infection" also seems to contribute to this (like french guy trying to kill Rousseau, Claire killing that guys from the temple), although he now does want to use Sawyer, Claire and Jin somehow without directly killing them. But still there are many things "off", for example it seems like it was Richard helping Ben killing Dharma. Richard was on Jakobs side even in "jughead", so I guess Jakob would also be responsible for killing all that guys including Kandidates. What again would not make a lot of sense.. ^^
