Subject: lost
well if you watch what the episodes are called then there is one that does give an impression what timeline probably will not survive and the other thing I would say that it is quite clearly one timeline crashing into the other one while Sun seems to be the only person where it is not this way. It would be lame if Jack was the last candidate. I think it will be Lapidus and Illana centric episodes and that they will give more insight than expected. And I would be surprised to see that Aaron is left completely out of it. But well, speculation of course. I would be quite bored if there was another Jack-centric episode.
I also wouldn't be surprised if hurley doesn't want to take sides. But that also means, that MIB cannot win IF he is one of his candidates as well (and I think they have same lists).
Hmm touched or not touched, that is the question. Maybe we haven't seen it yet?
He did touch hurley though. In Episode 5x17.

Yeah looking ahead it's clear where something big is going to happen but that doesn't mean it has to be the end of the line, it could be where Smokey finally decides that he doesn't need those one his side anymore.
I don't expect another Jack episode, I think The Last Candidate could focus on MIB and Jacob. Lapidus isn't important enough to get his own episode and the same goes for Illana. There shouldn't be any doubt that Jack is the last candidate, if Dogen's dagger actually does what he said, Jack will be the only one left not to have spoken to MIB after tomorrow and therefore the only one able to kill him.
Hurley was touched by Jacob but only after they left the island, same as with Sayid.
MIB can win simply by getting everyone to leave, though I believe that's not quite the case because they could simply come back. Once they've all gone, then he can leave, then he can kill them and never has to return.

Oh btw, what's up with Eloise? Seemingly she is conscious about the alt timeline!
Yep, she, and Faraday(well in that reality he is Widmore Jr. :P). I bet they'll tell Desmond what he has to do.
well in retrospective Richard isn't important enough to have his own episode neither. But I think that especially Illana has lots of open questions of her relation with Jacob. I know the Lost-makers have done this before. First everyone said that Rousseau knows more, then it was Ethan, then the others in general, then Ben for a while, then Richard, then the guys from the freighter, then Dogen etc and they never knew anything. And now it is Illana. Problem is, the series will be over soon, so they don't have time to play this silly game any more :P So I think it could be possible for Illana to have a centric episode, if it does serve the story in both timelines.
But well we will see :D
Ah ok, yes you are right. They were touched after first leaving the island. Maybe they became candidates only after that touch? Or he also made them immortal like Richard with that touch? ;) Well it is good that we are still able to speculate :D

you may be right. That some of them were touched as children may lead to some sue-cases... o.O
Ha, you think you know what Desmond is doing and then he goes and surprises you.
I said that they cannot play this game... and then this. They could at least have found a better way of killing her :P We already have arzt on us, and he is starting to smell...
About Desmond: it is nice to have at least one really unpredictable character.. or should I say crazy? :D Hurley and Locke did seem quite predictable to me in this episode.
All in all not as good as expected for me :( I don't know why I am disappointed exactly, but I still am.

Illana is credited to appear in all future episodes so you can expect her to be chatting to Hurley quite a bit, it really was quite a strange thing to happen though. I wonder if Jacob took Illana from the Alt universe, you'll remember her being bandaged up in the hospital.
Des was random. You'd think there are better ways of making sure John had a revelation and why bother with John anyway?

Ok. Well but still I think they made it mostly because Illana had something to explain. Yes, I remember her in bandages and how Jacob came to her for "help", but they had a story that reaches back, I guess. She knew about the cottage, about the statue, about miles (she took ashes of jacob with her)..
Good idea about her being from paralell universe. Quite possible. I assumed he just healed her, like he did with the sister of Juliet (she never was on island at all) but your idea would be more interesting.
Well it is not really random. It shows that emotions from other timeline seem to sink through. He goes to see the people from the manifest, he saw Locke and "remembered" this guy did throw him down a well. So he acted emotionally and run him over.

I'm quite sure that running Locke over with the car was a case of the writers wanting to show a variation of ways to make people remember. Scenes of Desmond sitting and talking to everyone would be too repetitive and predictable, so they figure out different ways of making them reach "enlightenment"... Now Locke is out of his wheelchair on the ground. Will that trigger his memory? ;-)
A theory I've been posting elsewhere is that that Ilana deliberatly killed herself, Obi-Wan Kenobi style. She realised that she was the weak link, being that she could be killed by Smokey or could become like ole dead-eyed Sayid. From this point on she'll lead Hurley from a safe position of deadness.
I'm still suspicius about if it's possible to both timelines aren't parallel but crossed over going on a never ending loop.

I'm expecting an epic Lost tonight seeing as it's taking next week off. You'd expect The Last Candidate to be Jack but the trailer wasn't clear and we've already had his episode.
